Beautiful pagoda
Oct 2019
This is a beautiful and strikingly well-preserved Tang Dynasty pagoda set in a small temple (Guanghui Temple 广惠寺) with lovely manicured grounds. There's a collection of stele found during excavations in Zhengding that relate to the temple at the back. There are signs with basic explanations in English. The temple is free to enter and you can climb up to just below the 'flower' part for 15RMB. As with all the temples in Zhengding (except Longxing aka Big Buddha Temple) it stays open until 11pm and is brightly lit up, making it ideal for night photography, or even a night visit if you want to avoid the heat of the summer.

It’s very easy to get to, being only a 20-minute cab ride from the centre, or take bus 177 from the medical university bus stop (河北医大) north of the stadium on Zhongshan Road to Zhengding Nanmen (正定南门; if using a transport card you’ll be asked to pay twice when leaving the previous payment zone). Then walk into the walled town and see the map with specific directions to the temple and the other sites in Zhengding.

If you visit Shijiazhuang, you MUST visit Zheng Ding
Oct 2017 • Couples
Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei province, is off the beaten track for most people, but for those interested in Chinese history, this is a good destination. Zheng Ding is a 20 minute drive from Shijiazhuang and well worth the visit. There are several ancient temples and pagodas there including the Huata tower and Guanghui temple. These go well back in time to Song and Ming. I think I also saw some items and towers that went back to the Yuan dynasty. Not overrun with tourists and you can take your time and spend as much time as you like. If possible, I'd recommend finding a local guide so they can tell you about the place. We have a friend in Shijiazhuang who loves history and he took us around. We spent all morning at Zheng Ding and still did not see everything. We will definitely be going back to Zheng Ding to see more our next visit to Shijiazhuang.

Unique and beautiful bouquet-like pagoda
May 2017 • Solo
At the end of Zhengding Li Shi Wenhua Street (Zhengding History and Culture Street). The original temple has been ruined, but the tower is preserved.

Quite interestingly, in many Chinese old temple and monastery, buildings collapsed during wars or after been neglected for years, but the pagoda stands still. It might be due to the respect and awe from people.

Quite an unique and beautiful pagoda. There are sculptures of Buddhas, peoples, elephants and lions on it. The tower itself likes a bouquet of flowers. "Huata" means "Flower tower" in Chinese.

The pagoda is up high on the tower base, only can be better viewed If you have a telescope.
