This beach definitely takes a little effort to find (GPS recommended) but driving to the north end of the island to explore all of the beaches and coves is a great way to spend a morning/afternoon.

We decided to spend a day popping around to all of the different beaches in the area as well as enjoy the views as we drove around the north end. When we ended up here we were absolutely stunned.

It was like the beaches you see in a movie. Perfectly secluded and surrounded on either side by huge rocky bluffs, this felt like a private escape that only the locals know about. We spent a couple of prime hours here and never saw more than 20 or so other people on the beach at the same time.

Renting chairs is relatively inexpensive ($5-10 USD for 2 chairs if I recall correctly, and roughly $15 total if we wanted an umbrella as well). Snorkeling here was phenomenal. There was some really cool coral and a large variety of fish to look at.

Do yourself a favor and step away from the hotel managed beaches and take the time to drive out and find this hidden gem.

Water was beautiful, which was only positive aspect. As we parked in parking lot, we saw a guy peeing in the bushes. Chair rentals were scarce, and staff was rude. Ladies room, which appeared to be older than dirt, cost $1 to use & the men's room was locked up. (Thus, the reason the guy was peeing in the bushes.) Two male "staff" monitored the ladies room & chairs like hungry wolves, ensuring everyone "paid". We don't recommend going for the day-- just stop in for photos & leave.

This place is absolutely stunning, but there were so many tourists we could barely find a place to lay a towel. The snorkeling was very uneventful...nothing but rocks with some corals and few fish every once in a while. But the topper to make this place distasteful was a mid aged lady down the beach just standing up topless flopping around and then a mid aged man stood up in front of kids and all and yanked his shorts off and dried himself flopping everywhere right in the middle! It was just a turnoff that the security lets them do this! I know the island says clothing optional beaches, but a family beach with tons of kids and people was just too much!

Kenepa Beach is just beautiful. You can see the white sand through the Chrystal clear baby blue water. You can take the most beautiful pictures early in the morning during weekdays as it would be less crowded. If you want the island experience go there in the weekends where you will experience local families enjoying their beach day. Usually with BBQ and drinks. Authentic!

Public transport info: bus 3c leaves Otrobanda. We usually got the 10:30 to Lagun or the Knips. It takes an hour from Willemstad to it's furthest point to turn around and come back for the purposes of working out when the return bus will arrive. Timetables @ autobusbedrijf.com. 2.5 guilders. They always run on time, not sure why public transport on Curacao gets so much negativity.

The 2 Kenepa beaches, Large and Small, are free to the public. The water is beautiful, beach is clean. There are minimal services available, a small snack bar and you can pay to access the bathrooms or rent beach chairs/umbrellas. Can get crowded since it is free, so locals like to go there, too.

The beaches on the West side of Curacao are absolutely beautiful. Rent a car and do them on your own so you can stay for as long as you like. Lots of visitors taking the "plunge" here off the cliffs. You will be required to pay for beach chairs and umbrellas here but not an entrance fee.

This is another of the most stunning beaches on the west coast. We arrived here at 9.30am and were the second couple to arrive with the beach guys just starting to set up. The sea is aquamarine and the sand powder white. The unmade car park is directly adjacent to the beach. There are a limited number of umbrellas and chairs to rent for $15. The snorkelling 🤿 at the rocks to the right hand side (looking from the beach out to sea) was incredible - we saw every imaginable type of fish, some stunning fan coral and large shoals of small fish. There are no toilets here and whilst the snack bar looks like it closed some time ago some local women were selling food at the back of the beach. Definitely one to visit. Your ticket for umbrellas and beds is also valid at Grote Knip. Note that this beach is also known as Kenepa Chiki.

This is probably the most beautiful beach in Curacao paired with really great snorkeling specially on the right side by the cliffs, saw a squid, turtle, eels etc. However, there are small jellyfishes specially in the morning. My hand got stung and I saw them small jellyfishes myself while snorkeling so please be careful especially in the morning. I was there March at around 9-12 noon.

All of the beaches in Curacao have one draw back and that is boulders or large stones just off the beach. So you must be careful when walking into the water. If you try to run you could easily strain or break an ankle. The beach is fantastic to look at, but it is not very long so can be crowded with little to no shade.
