We were waiting for our hotel to check in, so we popped a few km down the road. At only 6 Euros entry, it was not such a big museum, but the glass art was very impressive to see and wonder how the artists came up with the designs and more than anything how they executed their design in practice.

Arriving at Musverre you will discover an absolutely remarkable building, all in Hainaut blue stone, surrounded by a cleverly landscaped garden, notably by stone elements forming a multi-faceted terrace. The interior of the museum is a temple of light, fascinating volumes highlighting the entirely estimable collection of this little-known museum. The shop contains very beautiful things (in glass, etc.). An authentic discovery, far from the crowds because it does not yet seem to attract large groups. We visited it on a Monday in August, almost alone…

I am not the biggest fan of glass-art but this museum has succeeded to let me see the beauty and be interested in the specific techniques that make glass art so typical and yet very diverse. The museum shows a wide range of different glaas art-examples and the videos that show how some things are being made are very informative and efficicient. I also appreciate the focus on the history of the glass industry in the region and the appreciation for its craftmanship. A must do when in the region, even if you're sceptical as I was.

Fascinating. Well displayed. Full of light and color. I highly recommend a visit to this new museum recently installed in an area once famous for its glass manufacturers. Today it provides a showcase for contemporary glass makers as well as exhibiting the historical trésors in its collections.

A new museum that is worthwhile visiting if you are in the neighborhood from Hautmont & Maubeuge, France. Sars-Potteries has a long history in glass-making. You can notice that already when entering the village. Look on the roof tops of the houses, you'll see roof-finials. They are a tribute to the glass-making. There are lots of national & international artist showing there sculptures & makings. Definitely something you would enjoy.

Beautiful museum dedicated to glass with sculptures and which welcomes artists in residence. The building is recent and located in a green park. An asset for the region
