Ever since I heard of EcoRides I wanted to do a tour but didn’t get the opportunity to do so until now. As locals, we often don’t take advantage of the beauty of our island because, as the saying goes, “we live and work where you vacation”. Work seems to overshadow opportunity. Having been in COVID-19 lockdown for 3 months (which definitely paid off!), once the restrictions were lifted and we could begin to move around, I was determined to go on a EcoRides Tour. The owner recommended the tour he thought we’d most enjoy so we booked the Sunrise Tour. It was absolutely wonderful! We were taken to a family cave which is not publicly accessible, ate fresh plums straight off the tree, enjoyed a most delicious coconut tart and coconut water, plus got to see several friends along the way. We highly recommend EcoRides to anyone who wants an enjoyable outdoor adventure. There was not one negative during the tour! Go, enjoy it! It’s well worth it!

We booked our bike trip hoping to learn and see more of the Cayman Islands. It was a fantastic trip and Shane is very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to many public sites as well as some family owned caves. We sampled some fruit from his trees and enjoyed coconut milk and fruit for the first time! He took many wonderful photos for us, free of charge that have become great memories. I highly recommend this tour if you want to explore the beautiful nature this island possesses.

Hi Gary, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with such a nice review and thanks for all your kind words they are much appreciated. However, I would like to clarify for any future guests that local fruit and coconuts are not a part of the tour these are only in times when they are available as we were lucky that all of these were available on this tour. As for the photos guests can purchase a photo package when booking as listed on our website to capture these great memories on the tour however I do from time to time take photos of guests on the tour an provide them as a complimentary to some nice families like yours. Overall pictures take allot of time to produce the final product and it would be hard for all guest to expect free photos. So in a nutshell photo packages are provided at an additional cost and fruits on the tour should not be expected as part of the tour but instead are sometimes complementary when available. It was a pleasure having you on our tour. Thanks again for sharing your ECO Rides Cayman Experience.

I've been visiting the island for the past 6 years and recently stumbled upon ECO Rides. Nobody else in my group was interested in doing a ride, so I signed up to do the shorter of the rides, the sunrise tour. It ended up just being Shane and I, which was great! He was very informative, friendly, and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. I'll definitely be booking a longer ride the next time I'm back! Whether you are a solo rider, small or large group, make time to book one of his tours!

Our tour guide Shane's deep love of the Cayman Islands and in particular East End shined through! He gave us insights that a more commercialized tour would likely not have included. He took us to hidden caves and beautiful coves giving us many insights into the ecology of the East End. In addition to being a wonderful tour guide, he is also a wonderful photographer and took pictures that were included in the tour. Additionally, even though we rode on some of the main roads of the East End, we always felt safe. My wife and I would highly recommend this tour!

Shane... first of all, you are the man... second of all, you sure know how to show people a good time. If you’re reading this review and thinking about taking this tour.... book it. It was such a blast biking with Shane. He took us all over the east side of the island and showed us his home town. The stops along the way we’re beautiful and he was very knowledgeable about their history. He answered all of our questions without skipping a beat. He knows everything about his side of the island and is very passionate in teaching it to outsiders. I was very appreciative of his drive and how much he cared about showing us a good time. He even let us into his home and gave us some fresh coconuts to try. We had such a great time. I wish I was there right now sipping on some fresh coconut water starring at the ocean in his backyard. What a great time. Thanks brother.

What I love most about tours like this is spending some time with a local person who loves their city/town and wants to tell you about it. It's really interesting to hear about the history of a place and the people to understand how it came to be what it is. Couple that with some exercise on a bike ride and seeing some of the interesting spots on the much less traveled east end and it was a nice morning. There were only two of us on the tour the day we went so we got to really talk with Shane and get to know the place a little more. Unfortunately for our specific day it was really windy so the bike ride was a little bit more arduous but still good. Very thankful for an early start before it gets too hot. Thank you Shane!

This tour was simply amazing! We've lived in Cayman for about a year, and have always been interested in the history of the island. This easy-going tour was something I didn't expect to enjoy so much! East End is certainly full of treasures and incredible historical value, and our guide was nothing short of amazing. We stopped at quite a few places, and were impressed time and time again with his wealth of knowledge, passion and positivity he has for sharing stories of Cayman's history and future. I encourage all visitors and residents of Cayman to take this tour!

Shane was so informative on our tour. He picked us up right in front of our resort and we rode around the entire east end. It was so interesting to learn about the history of this part of Cayman and especially the connection Shane’s family had to the island. The best part was stopping at his house afterwards and him giving us fresh coconut water and coconut to take back and eat! 10/10 recommend the tour, it is so worth it! Definitely do this in the beginning of your trip as Shane gives some awesome restaurant and must see location destinations!

We had such a wonderful adventure with eco rides, from the moment we met Shane we knew he would expose us to natural treasures we’d never find on our own.
He took into secret preserves where just beyond a road was a pond filled stillness and beauty.
Showing us the natural world hiding in plain sight-he taught us about the the turtle grass and kelp on the gorgeous east end beach-which is the food for the magical turtles which are an important part of the islands culture.

Shane’s priority was keeping everyone safe and happy.
Shanes passion is the east end and specifically indigenous species he explained historic accounts of the ships wrecks visible from the shore queen Elizabeth visits, a family cave and the pièce de résistance the natural blow holes, where we have the most wonderful family portraits to date.
We loved our journey especially resting at his home to eat his freshly cut coconut from his trees.
Not to be missed!

Thank your for your kind words and taking the time to provide a review. It was an absolute pleasure having your family on the tour. After such a long time without visitors to the Island and the pandemic, this was my first big tour since March 2020. It was like a breath of fresh air riding and chatting with everyone I honestly left thinking how blessed I am to do something I love and meet such amazing people. Your family came at the perfect time to give me that motivation to keep things going. Your family are easy-going people that made the tour enjoyable and fun for me. Thank for the motivation and sharing your ECO Rides Cayman experience. God Bless and Guidance 🙏🏿

My 3 teenage daughters and myself did the Cayman sunrise tour. Shane who is a local with strong family ties was very informative about the islands history -particularly economically and politically. He was safety conscious and very concerned about rider safety. Quality of bikes were great. The East side of the island was a different relaxed vibe. Enjoyed it and recommend it to families/people confident on a bike. Downside was it was very early! But for safety and temperature concerns it makes sense!
