We booked 2 days of tours with Ian and African Moon Adventures earlier this month (August 2024). We are so happy that we found Ian as he was super helpful ahead of our trip to carefully plan 2 days of sightseeing around Cape Town with our family of 4 adults and 3 young kids.
On the day of our excursions, Ian picked us up in advance of our departure time with a very clean and comfortable van for our tours. The first day, Ian took us all around the Peninsula, stopping at a charming town to grab coffee and breakfast and visit seals up close! We then traveled to Boulders Beach to see the Penguins and then to the Cape of Good Hope. Afterwards, he organized an amazing lunch for us before taking us a beautiful drive through Chapman's Peak.
On day 2, Ian took us to the V&A Waterfront and toured wine country. Thanks for the amazing recommendations, as we drank and ate so well before dropping us off with our luggage at our hotel in Franschhoek.
Ian was a great guide and we learned so much about the local culture of South Africa and the area surroundings thanks to him.
Highly recommend you book with Ian!

4 of us - young at heart but no so young of limb (2 cousins plus husbands) had a brilliant 3 days being taken around many Cape Town areas.
Being with Ian was like being with a well trusted friend who knew the area so well, and he quickly sensed what we would want to being doing, and he painlessly and efficiently organised our days for us.
We thoroughly enjoyed all our, very varied, experiences and thoroughly recommend African Moon Adventures to any group who wants their hands held in getting to see the areas around Cape Town.

The limbs moved along the mountain, Cape Point, Winelands etc. just fine. Thank you for the lovely review and the 3 days I could spend with you all. It was a fun experience for me too. Appreciate the recommendation to other possible travellers to Cape Town.

On our first trip to South Africa, our first stop was Cape Town and we had a great referral from a friend on who to use for a day tour. That was Ian and I must say that he did not disappoint. On tim and ready for a day tour. We started out with a foggy morning, but we had a great time thinking what was out in the fog, far away. Didn't matter because we saw most of the foggy sights earlier the day before on the hop on-hop off bus.
What's great about having Ian as your guide, he knew where to go, when to go and what you really have to see to enjoy the beauty of Cape Town. We had a great time and we can';t wait to go back and spend more time with Ian on another tour around Cape Town.

Thank you Mike for your lovely review. Was not expecting any reviews during lockdown but this one sure was a surprise. Would love to have you guys back to show you more of the Cape. Just not sure when tourism will be open again. 75 days and counting of no tours. Rather sad!

We’ve just returned from a 30 day trip to South Africa, touring with Ian of African Moon Adventures.
We first met Ian in 2019 when we booked 2 one day tours with him and were so impressed by his services that he was our first choice for this more extensive return visit. Ian advised us and assisted us with our pre-trip planning which made this task much easier. Ian couldn’t have been any more helpful and accommodating. By using his services, we were able to see much more than we could have possibly seen touring on our own. Touring with African Moon Adventures was efficient, comfortable and Ian made us feel safe at all times.
We can whole heartedly recommend African Moon Adventures. Their service is beyond excellent and touring with them is a great value!

Sorry for only replying now but never saw the post. I am truly grateful to you for booking me for almost a full month. It could not have come at a better time considering the 2 years of hardly any work. I trust I may see you in August again for my epic 4 day wild flower tour. Haha I will be so lucky!

We had a great day with Ian's guidance in Cape Town. The day tour includes Cape Point, Boulders Beach and vineyards in Constantia was totally awesome!
Since me and my wife were the only ones in that day's tour, it was like a VIP experience and Ian took us to even Muizenberg beach with a little addition to the tour agenda. This was a nice gesture!
Ian is so kind and helpful, he shares his knowledge (he has a good knowledge in terms of the history of Cape Town and its nature) throughout the tour which makes it more interesting and fun.
Overall, the history, the nature and its wines... Cape Town is an amazing city which needs to be visited!

Thank you so much firstly for booking the tour which had to be postponed a few times due to the Covid restrictions etc., but also for taking the time in leaving such a positive review. Hope to see you one day again back in South Africa.

Booked a tour with Ian Renecle of African Moon in September, 2022, to see the Cape Point, penguins, ostrich farm and all beautiful scenery in btween. Ian was very informative regarding all points of interest, and was more than willing to stop at various scenic points for pictures. All in all, just a wonderful day of discovery and it was that much more fun and informative with Ian as our guide. Would highly recommend his services.

We had two days full of adventures with Ian. One day touring the Stellenbosch wineries and another along the Cape Town coast. Both were well thought out, fun and informative. Ian is the ultimate guide.

South Africa, beautiful even when it rains. That was what Ian showed us with his combination of a safari and tasting trip. We lucked out with it staying dry in the morning during or safari game drive, and Ian provided us with beautiful pictures he made during our daytrip, which he posted on his Facebook, to remember this wonderful adventurous day. His combination of safari and olive, beer, toffee and wine tastings and ending it with a beautiful beach view on the Table Mountain and Robben island, is perfect for a fantastic impression of the beauty of the Cape town environment. Highly recommended!

Ian picked my wife and I up from our hotel in Cape Town early in the morning to ensure we saw all of the attractions with ample time at each location. Ian is a very professional, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. In all of our travels, we would rate him as one of the top guides we have used. Our full day tour was excellent in all respects; the visit to Cape Point and the lighthouse, the penguins, lunch at a small bistro, gin tasting, wine tasting and the return trip home along Chapman's peak, all via a very comfortable, air conditioned, recent model passenger van that was spotlessly clean. Ian tailored the tour to our interests, adding the gin tasting given we had some extra time, and also adding significant time to the end of the tour for some world-class whale watching in Chapman's Bay, which was apparently a very unusual event for this time of year. Noting our interest in the whales, Ian allowed us to stay well beyond our scheduled tour time, which we are very thankful for. I would highly recommend this tour as a must do if visiting the Cape Town area. Thanks again Ian for a great and memorable tour.

I can’t recommend this tour enough! Ian was absolutely amazing since before booking. It turned out that I was the only person on the tour that day, but Ian made me feel super comfortable and the experience was just delightful. We got to see many animals during the game drive and I must say that at the end of the day both my soul and stomach (after the many delicious tastings) were completely full! I highly recommend this tour and at other tour with Ian!
