About
Ground floor level shop converted into a micro pub which can seat around 24 comfortably and 15 - 20 standing. It has a brightly lit clean toilet and is easily accessible by people that may be disabled. The lighting is steam punk style using copper pipework with Edison wall lights and leds in the ceiling. It is also air conditioned, (not seen in many micro pubs) making it very comfortable in the hot weather. We have blues and popular music on occasionally.

Highly recommended for beer lovers!

We saw this place online when planning a short (3 day) trip to Shipston so made sure we visited - and so glad we did. We were given a really warm welcome (and when we visited for a second time we were greeted as old friends!). The place is run as a local pub should be - it feels part of the community, nothing is too much trouble and the emphasis is on looking after the customers rather than simply turning a profit. Good range of regularly changing beers (served from the cask) and draft ciders. I can’t recommend the place highly enough.

Don’t give up! Dave is still selling his top notch beers but only to take home obviously. Still local brews and now it’s a reason to take that exercise to collect. Beer every bit as good as usual. Support!

Friendly landlord, delicious beer

My husband and I visited Shipston on Stour for a short break to celebrate my birthday. Wherever we go we always seek out local micro pubs; coming from Kent we are usually spoilt for choice at home. We liked this place so much we paid a visit each night of our stay. David was the perfect host, extremely knowledgeable about his beers and passionate about his business. We thoroughly recommend this micropub for anyone who enjoys a good, well kept beer or indeed a gin where a wide selection can also be found.

Good beer, great company, friendly staff
Jan 2020 • Couples
Came in here yesterday in a suggestion of a local taxi driver, we were not disappointed we had a lovely afternoon/ evening with lots of friendly locals. Good beer and good company and friendly staff can’t really ask for much more. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

You will not be disappointed
Jul 2019 • Couples
We came across this micro pub by complete chance on a Sunday evening and could easily have missed it as it is very, very low key.

However, our curiosity was well rewarded and we were welcomed by the friendly landlord who was only too pleased to talk us through the choice of beers and provide tastings without being pushy.

The decor is basic and there is no music or fruit machines etc but if you are looking to enjoy a good beer and chat then this is definitely a place for you.

It is worth checking the opening hours before any visit as it does close early some evenings.

BEST (MICRO) PUB EVER!!
Jul 2019 • Couples
Wow! What a visit! We might have lost the quiz but boy did we find a great place to drink. If you visit Shipston-on-Stour, look no further. Enjoy wonderful wine, beautiful beers and a fabulous landlord. We are hoping to FaceTime into the next pub quiz as we are moving away. 10/10 (not our score on the quiz, by the way), would, and will be, recommending to all of my friends.

P.S. photos or it didn’t happen!

Enjoy good ale, ciders and more
Jun 2019 • Friends
We have have been enjoying Thirst Edition since it opened. The welcome by David, the Landlord has always been very friendly. The ales and ciders are great with regular favourites available supplemented by many others. The atmosphere is so pleasant with those who visit looking to enjoy good ale, cider and other similar beverages amongst like minded people. Thank you David for providing us with such an oasis. We would highly recommend a visit to Thirst Edition. Enjoy.

A great place to try quality beers straight from the cask, served by very friendly and knowledgeable landlord Dave; no surprise that you quickly become engaged in conversation with likeminded regulars. Great brewery-themed selections, the Jaipur won’t last long! Well worth a visit
