What an interesting place! We did the historical tour which included a free drink and we got to keep the glass as a souvenir! The tour itself was pretty short but still very cool. There’s a little food window that serves the best empanadas I’ve...More

Come to Casa Bacardi and do the tour with the rum tasting, it was definitely worth the time and money. When you arrive they give you a complimentary rum beverage of your choice while you wait for your tour group to assemble. The tour is...More

We were debating which tour to take, and I'm so glad we chose the rum tasting tour! It was different than any tasting tour I had done before.

We booked ours through the cruise ship to be safe. It is not close to the ship, so you have to get transportation there. You may be cutting it close.

San Juan ideas (3 Replies)
We plan to spend Dec. 1-6 in San Juan before flying to Culebra a week. We like art, nature, beaches, music, good simple food, and enjoy walking. My husband enjoys wine and I mostly like a place to dine with a view and a good beer. Each morning we hope to take a short walk before hotel breakfast which is at 7:30, each day and will fit in some relaxing time at the hotel. No expensive tours but use money saved for dining around OSJ 1. Thursday: check out our hotel, Gallery Inn, wine on...More

First of all, thanks for all the details. It is helpful to others planning, and it allows us to give you better feedback. 1.From those 2 dinning options, Cinemabar is much better. Seat outside for amazing views of the fort at night. 2.You should visit both forts, and that will take more than half a day. So no time for the beach. Remember it gets dark around 6pm. El Jibarito seves good food, but I would go there for lunch as this is a very casual place. For your fancy dinner, go to...More

I don't see the point of switching hotels between Condado and Isla Verde, especially when it looks like you will be on a day trip most of that day. Plaza is big, but nothing there you don't have at home. Do you like adventure tours? You can do zipline, rafting, caving, etc. Or go to Cabo Rojo and Boqueron. You have lived here so you can steer your friends around.
