Read about this on the "Kings Road" map & just knew we had to call in & see it. What a fascinating part of Finnish history & really so recently when you think about it (Who would have thought the Soviets having occupied the area)....More

This is a small, but very interesting museum which documents the Soviet occupation of this area. We were given a personal tour by a very knowledgeable guide who gave us a full appreciation of this time in history.

Igor Museum tells of the time when the Soviet Union had a naval base in Porkkala. In summer, Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11.00 to 16.00 and in winter on Saturdays from 12.00 to 16.00 and for groups by appointment. Entrance fee...More
