I was going through our last trip just before the world turned upside down and i forgot to review this amazing day cooking. The team are fun and full of cooking knowledge.
I am gluten free so my lesson was tailored just for me , i basically got quality one to one teaching while the other three fried away.

If you are going to choosing a place to learn choose this place basically

Amazing cooking school
Mar 2020 • Solo
This is an amazing experience. I have been living in Thailand for a few months now and wanted to learn how to cook some of the food I love to eat. The two girls that led us through the cooking were amazing, they were very friendly and chatty as well as extremely informative in talking us through the recipes.

Maybe I had a bonus as we were a small group of four and I chose a couple of different recipes to the other people so I had one on one time with one of the lady's who took time to tell me about each step as well as chat with me about my time in Thailand.

We got to eat all of the dishes we made, I was so full by the end 😂 as a momento we were given a cookbook to take home and I bought an apron from the school too.

I would definitely recommend this cooking school!

A Good 1/2-day Experience
Feb 2020 • Family
We took our 2 teens for the half-day cooking class. They picked us up in the back of a truck, which was fine until we saw how many other participants they were going to squeeze into the one truck. The ride was uncomfortable by the end,so maybe get a GRAB to the kitchen for under 100 baht.

We began in the market, but we didn't really buy our ingredients for cooking there. It ended up being an introduction to common Thai veg and spices and what they look like. After a brief intro, they let you 'shop' a bit and then you load up to head to the kitchen.

At the kitchen is where the magic happens! Here we chopped our own veg, made our own curry pastes, cooked our own soups, appetizers and main dishes. My only disappointment was that if you do the half-day experience you don't get to learn mango sticky rice, which we didn't know. But, the food was tasty and the teens enjoyed it.

However, all of us were done after the half-day. It's a preference thing, for sure, but 9am - 1:30pm was a lengthy time for us to stay interested in chopping, cooking and then eating lukewarm dishes (since you make them yourself and set them aside until you complete the set).

I'm happy to experience it, but I think we'll stick with just dining out on delicious Thai food in the future 😋

Great Experience & Delicious Food
Jan 2020 • Couples
We booked this cookery course on recommendation from a friend & weren’t disappointed.

It was easy to book online from the UK and everything was confirmed well.

We were both picked up & dropped off at our hotel with no extra charge.

The staff were super friendly, helpful and the entire experience was lots of fun!

The food we made was absolutely delicious (don’t go full / you’ll be fed well) and we were all given a complementary cookbook to take home.

It’ll certainly be put to good use!
Thank you to all the staff - we’ll be recommending you to all we know who are visiting Chiang Mai

While the idea of taking a cooking class sounds fun, I regret having signed up for this one.

I was told to arrive promptly at 3:55 PM even though the class did not start until four. I later found out the reason was that we had to stop at two different hotels and pick up other students before going to the market. Riding in the back of a truck through the city is not what I consider entertainment but it was what it was so I thought I would make the best of it.

We then arrived at the market where they showed us the different ingredients that we were going to buy. All they did was hold them up and tell us what each one was. We never even went inside the market, we just stood on the sidewalk as they showed us. So much for learning how to select ingredients.

After that, we climbed back into the back of the truck and headed back to the school. Everything was set up for us to begin cooking and we were told to start chopping the ingredients. As some of the students started, they asked to be reminded what some of the ingredients were. The two young ladies who were running the class would make smart comments like “I already told you at the market“ followed by laughter followed by finally giving the answer. They thought they were being cute but it was really somewhat insulting. Their humor was at their student’s expense. A couple of times they told me to chop faster even though I was not going slowly. Even if I was, why would you instruct somebody to use a knife faster? They also made comments a couple of times to me that “you have never cooked before“. Not only is that not true, but it’s quite rude to make a statement like that. (I have cooked for about 40 years and while I am no expert, I do know my way around the kitchen.)

At the end of the night they give you a cookbook. It was at that time that they told us the recipe for Pad Thai was not in the book. This was the one item that they strongly recommended we make! If it’s not in the book, why couldn’t they print out the recipe or at least tell us before we made it so we could take notes?

Everything was fast-paced and you felt like they wanted you to hurry up so they could go home. Their attempt to make it entertaining missed the mark. While the food was good, I’m sure there are better options and would suggest that you look elsewhere.

I am very sorry to hear that you were disappointed. Firstly, we ask students to come ahead of time because you need time to choose what food program you want to cook before we meet other students at 4.00. Our school has group food classes. When your group is ready to begin, we have to start and finish together so that we stay on time. The market that we take you to is more than 100 years old. In ancient times, the area where you stood was the center of the market, but over time, the road came through the middle of the market, we need to stand in front of the vegetable shops and raw material stores that are located beside the road. We had no intention to insult you at all, laughter is our nature. Sorry if you are not satisfied. We ask students to cut finely which takes more time so that the ingredients finish cooking at the same time because each material is different. Lastly, the evening class is the last class. We do it for customers who don't have time to do during the day. When the group has finished eating, we need to clean up before the school was closes so all employees can go home. This must be after the class and customer service is finished. If students want to take more time to sit and relax We recommend morning classes to be more convenient. We spent such a delicious afternoon at the Kitchen Cookery Centre. The facilities are clean and set up to accommodate a large group. The teachers are knowledgeable and friendly. The food was so tasty. We will definitely return next time we are in Thailand.

We only did the half day afternoon class but we had a great time.
The class was really good fun and the staff were so patient and helpful.
We had a great afternoon and left with a recipe book ready to re-create the great food at home.

Thanks for a great experience. The class size is small and we all cooked different dishes. Simple to understand and all the dishes turned out to be superb. The steps are easy to follow. Definitely recommend this course to everyone. ;)

Fun and delicious

Highly recommend this class if you’re in Chiang Mai! Riko and her team were friendly and made the class a lot of fun. We made spring rolls, noodle and chicken salads, and different curries—all were delicious and we enjoyed getting to customize the level of spiciness to our liking. Our favorite dish was the Chiang Mai specialty, khao soi—a chicken noodle soup/curry. As an added bonus, we received a cookbook to take home at the end of the class.
