This is a review for the diner at the ATV Tours booking location. This place has excellent food service and I highly recommend stopping by this establishment. My husband and and I fortunately made a stop here at the Glacier View diner for dinner while on vacation. We arrived two minutes before the restaurant closed and ordered two personal pizzas. It turns out that the pizzas are fresh and cooked up ordering, so it takes 10-15 minutes to make one. Instead of turning us away because fulfilling our pizza order world last 10+ minutes beyond their closing time, the restaurant operator kindly made our pizzas. We thanked him emphatically because restaurant food at that time of night and in this remote area is hard to come by. He said that he didn’t want us to have to drive hungry, which was incredibly kind. He even let us sample some ice cream on the house while we waited. The pizza and ice cream were delicious. We are so appreciative of the restaurant operator and highly recommend visiting this establishment.

My husband and I both think this is one of the best things we did in Alaska, without a doubt. We are in our early 70's, My husband had been on an ATV before but I had not even though I have driven tractors before and had a rural upbringing. Point is, this isn't necessarily just for the young, athletic outdoorsy types. I booked our trip months in advance and didn't know exactly what to expect. Had even considered cancelling at one point. I really assumed we might be in a group of several people just roaming around dusty, open areas. It was definitely NOT that!!
Tommy is a patient, kind, encouraging man who clearly loves the land he's chosen to be on. He encouraged me to at least try operating my own ATV as it would be more fun for me than riding along with him on the UTV or behind my husband. He chose a machine with power steering and as smooth a ride as they probably get. Easy to operate. He made clear that if, at any time, I was uncomfortable I could just stop and switch to the UTV. He took us for a "test run" down a road to the Matanuska riverbed and eventually back up to our starting place. When he had assured himself that my husband and I were both comfortable and careful, we went across the Glenn Highway and onto a variety of trails. And it was obvious Tommy was watching how well we adjusted and adapted to each trail before he took us somewhere more challenging. We wound all around through endless wooded areas, meadows, across small streams, rural roads, and high into the mountain. In many places it was rough and rocky and muddy, but if you're driving your own machine you can control the speed and, to a large extent, how rough it gets. (I have a bad back.) And it was simply gorgeous. Wildflowers everywhere in the woods and in the mountains. When we stopped, Tommy talked about moose and bears in the area, the glacier, showed us places marred by the slide from a recent earthquake whose epicenter had been nearby. It was just a fun, fun afternoon. Highly recommend!! (Your shoes and clothing may get wet and/or muddy but you will have fun.)

Tommy is absolutely a great tour-guide, ATV teacher, and gentleman. Our flight was delayed and we would have missed our tour, but Tommy (Phillips) moved our tour to the next day without hesitation. The tour itself was a blast and my family enjoyed the combination UTV/ATV experience (we were all first-time drivers and Tommy couldn't have been nicer/more patient).
At the end, we stopped at the store for some ice cream to top off our great time with Glacier View. Thanks guys for a great and muddy time!

I did not take any tours, but did book a “premier RV site” with full hookups. On the website there is an idyllic picture of an RV in a tree line camp site with water nearby. I paid $35/night for 2 nights.
Imagine my surprise when we get here and our site is in the parking lot of a busy ATV business, with cars and ATVs racing past our camper. There wasn’t space to park our truck, and it had to be far across the parking lot from us which was inconvenient.
The business has toilets with running water, but they weren’t available after 8pm or all of the next day because it was July 4, a holiday. We shared a single porta-loo with a few hundred other souls. I would have liked to have known this before booking my campsite months in advance.
When we arrived, the employee had no record of our reservation. When I tried to confirm with the owner, he was grumpy and unwelcoming.
I am grateful for full hookups and to be parked near to the Glacier View 4th of July car launch. But the description of RV camping for this business was extremely limited and deceptive and I was very disappointed, for the price I paid.

We (2 families) visited Alaska with 3 boys (17, 15, and 11). We went on the half-day ATV and UTV tour. It was fantastic. The views are unbelievable and driving the ATVs is fun! The owner is super friendly and professional. Highly recommended fun activity.

Just went on the 3 hour ATV tour yesterday 6/11/2017 with my family (all adults). It was such a great experience! Non-stop fun. Our tour guide Tommy was organized, responsible, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. He gave us detailed instructions about how to operate the ATV's and it was pretty smooth till the end. He took us to see beautiful views and cool spots. He made us feel safe and was well prepared with equipment. No experience needed like me! I had lots of fun, I highly recommend this adventure if you are in the Palmer area. I drove from Anchorage and the drive was scenic, beautiful and well worth the distance.

Tommy was our guide, and did a fantastic job. Our family of 5 had little experience with ATVs, but that didn't stop him from taking us through some challenging terrain. He was great about making sure that everyone was keeping up and not having any problems. The machines were in excellent condition and easy to operate. One of my daughters accidentally caused some minor damage to the ATV she was driving, but Tommy was very kind and forgiving, saying that it was no big deal as he patiently made the repair while we were on the trail. Would highly recommend this activity if you're interested in a couple hours of fun!

Went out with a group of friends on the Glacier View ATV tour and had a freakin blast! Incredible scenery, awesome guide and great mud for 4wheelin! 10/10 would recommend and do again. Couple moose, lots of mountains, good friends, and a great time. Never 4wheeled in such an amazing place before in my life and the trails are crazy fun, both for the newbie and the rowdy!

I live in Alaska but wanted something fun for some guests that were visiting. This was perfect! Beautiful views and a just a blast. Tommy did a great job suggesting multiple routes to take based on what we wanted to see - not just the same track every time. Thanks Tommy, we had an AWESOME time!

Tommy was a great guide. Very professional and adventurous! We had an amazing time and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Mat-Su valley area. Can't say enough good things about this place.

How rough is the ATV ride? We’re early 70’s with typical stiff joints and the aches and pains of our age but in reasonably good health otherwise.

We stayed at Alpenglow Luxury Camping. It was fabulous! The view from the tents (these are big, sturdy canvas tents on wood platforms with comfy beds) is georgous! The only downside is no showers on site but we only stayed for one night so not a huge deal. There is not really a town there so we were just there for the Ice Trek on Matanuska Glacier and the ATV tour. It is a beautiful area and there are a couple restaurants to choose from for dinner.

Do you actually see the Matanuska Glacier while on this ATV Tour?

Yes you see the glacier, but from a distance. There are tours of the glacier, and not sure if Glacier View ATV Tours offers one. Give them a call - they are really friendly.
