Only a small-ish venue, canal terminates here and next to it some old, dilapidated Lime Kilns but great history. Toilets are available next to the canal, didn't use but looked fine from the outside. Enjoyed the walk along the Grand Union Canal, went a distance past the locks and then decided to turn around to try the pub back at the start, The Wharf Inn, I'll do a separate review for that. The canal path seemed in good condition and wouldn't be as murky as that near Sutton Cheney. There appears to be plenty of parking and a nice rotunda notice board with various maps/walks displayed. Overall, a nice place for walking and enjoying nature and the canal narrowboats.

Arrived at lunchtime on the hottest day of the year to find a berth waiting for us. We ate at the wharf inn then found a shady spot for coffee under a tree . There are lots of walks around here and lots of historical information. The village of Welford has a long history and they have made an effort with some different walks. A well stocked and thankfully air conditioned village shop/post office. The Wharf Inn provides decent pub fare.

Very pretty with many narrow boats moored. Come and watch the boats turnong in the winding or sample a pint in the local pub. Nice walk up the tow path to lock about 0.6km.

Whilst out on one of our many drives we spotted The Wharf Inn and had some lunch there. The landlady told us about the marina at the rear of the pub and the fact that that was where a lot of her trade came from.We had a little walk around finding many boats moored up..There are some wonderful walks in and around the area and although ours was a brief 30 minutes wander,we will return to investigate further. The good thing about this particular attraction is that it does not cost a penny. The walk was mainly flat but was on occasions quite slippy, with mud on various parts of the paths....to be expected at this time of year.Parking was available to the rear of the Wharf Inn,a large car park which over looks the marina...with a small pub garden/play area close by.Visited January 2017.

This is a lovely quiet place, good for walking, watching wildlife, nice boat owners, who always say hallo.
If I was lucky enough to have a narrow boat, this would be one of the considerations.

Located at the end of the Welford Arm of the Grand Union Canal, it is a sheltered harbour for securing. Marina services are available, or just tie up on the opposite bank. Great walk past the pub and up into the village.

This is a very quaint Wharf and winding hole. On a different note maybe WiFi for over night stays, just a thought, but not a deal Breaker.
We also visited the Wharf Inn very nice pub.

This is a lovely stop on the way to Cambridge and before you hit the dreaded and endless roadworks. It's only just off the A14. Pretty area used well by locals for dog walking etc. A pleasant stop.
