We booked this trip as a family of four with two children aged six and four. We booked in advance and were able to reserve an area on the boat that we felt was most suitable for us. We did this via email and Beki was extremely helpful, answering any queries we had along the way as well as making helpful recommendations to us.
The seating arrangement on-board has been adapted to make the experience COVID safe. Our drinks order was taken whilst seated at our bay and our drinks were brought to us to comply with current restrictions.
The entire trip was very relaxing, the commentary from the skipper was very informative but not intrusive. We were lucky enough to sit behind the skipper and when he wasn't running commentary in the second half of the trip he spent a lot of time chatting with us. He was a thoroughly friendly chap who obviously enjoys his work and is very fond of the area.
I would highly recommend this trip, particularly because they have really taken it upon themselves in these uncertain times to do the very best they can for their customers.
We will visit again when we return to the area.

Living in Horning thought we would go at a quiet time. Went Sunday morning 10.30am.
Great value for money, great commentary the captain told you everything you wanted to know about the riverside homes, wildlife, otters and herons couldn’t ask for anything more absolutely 5 star. You can get a drink, alcohol and a snack. Not a lot of places you get so much relaxed entertainment for such little money.
Really impressed, don’t question it just get on the boat and have a tranquil time.

You’ll struggle to find better value on any trip anywhere.
We boarded as a university re union. Four families including 7 children.
Staff were absolutely out of this world. Despite overcharging my 9 year old daughter £2 for a round of drinks, bar staff member Anne desperately sought out to track her down when she realised her mistake. Honestly is always a lovely trait to have.
Anne and Scarlett on the bar were brilliant value throughout the trip and bar prices are deliberately kept low, rather than exploit the captive audience they have.
However, despite their well priced bar and lovely bar staff, the highlight of the trip was the skipper himself. Good commentary throughout and a really prolonged period to allow children to drive the boat.
It’s not often that you’ll find an activity so criminally under priced, but at under £10, you simply cannot go wrong here.
Excellent service. Excellent value. We will return.

Decided to book by phone on the morning (recommended due to reduced numbers on board because of social distancing) and friendly lady was helpful & accommodating in securing our place for only 2 of us and our small well behaved dog in an outside seating area. We were allowed the front of the boat to ourself even tho there was only two of us. Staff are extremely friendly & helpful and take drinks orders from your assigned bay and bring them to you, then you can settled the bill at the end. Very clean and comfortable. The trip is a nice and steady pace through the broads with commentary and chances to see lots of ducks and herons and those little crested birds that can dive and swim. Lots of people about on their own boats. About 45 minutes upstream with commentary & 45 minutes downstream with soft music. Pub right outside and along the village with tables overlooking the broads. Plenty of people about but well behaved. You can pay for parking pretty much on site though it’s camera controlled as well as pay & display so don’t get caught out as you may get a postal fine. Would recommend parking on free village hall car park 4 minute walk away just follow the signposts on the main road around the Swan pub. Thoroughly recommend, you will be welcomed very warmly.

Seating is divided into socially distanced groups – an enclosed saloon downstairs and an upper deck with some open seating and an area which is covered and has clear plastic windows that can be rolled down in the event of rain. Passengers were embarked and disembarked in order to reduce social contact. It is worth booking tin advance if you wish to ensure a seat on the upper deck.
Once seated you are asked not to move except to use the toilets, in which case a mask must be worn.
The captain provides an informative commentary delivered in an amusing style. A bar service is available and drinks are delivered to your seat.
The one and a half hour trip took us down the river Bure as far as xxxxx Broad and return.
This was a very enjoyable trip and well worth the cost of about £10 each.
Worth noting that free car parking is available up the hill at the Village Hall.

My wife and I followed the company advice and booked our slot in advance. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The ladies who provided the drinks and ensured social distancing were adhered to were very professional and pleasant. The skipper of the vessel was incredibly informative and humorous. I would recommend this trip to anyone. We were located in section 2 on the lower part of the boat , which provided ample viewing and protection when the rain came. I would suggest that you get to the car park early as there is limited spaces. Parking costs are reasonable at £1 per hour. Will visit again in the future, great value for money

Our group of two adults and two teenagers were looking for something to do when the weather was a bit gloomy and thought this would be ideal after reading the reviews. We had to phone to book and our call was answered promptly and our reservation made for the following day. There's pay and display parking right next to the mooring and plenty of room. The staff were very welcoming and provided a small ramp to board the boat. Everyone rushed to the upstairs seating but the lower level is actually more comfortable with padded bench seating, tables and the bar! It was nice and warm inside and the view was unhindered. We had hot drinks and biscuits from the bar and settled down for a comfy and informative trip. The commentary was good though a little difficult to hear at times due to the noise from other passengers. It was nice to see the various homes along the river and hear some of the history. We didn't see much wildlife but managed to spot a heron and a beautiful blue kingfisher. I did venture to the front outside area but the wild wind and rain drove me back to the comfort and warmth inside. It was a very pleasurable trip and we all enjoyed ourselves, even the stroppy teenagers!

We had booked to go on this paddle steamer on a Saturday afternoon in July, at 3 but the weather was looking so bad we cancelled.
On the Sunday evening I emailed to ask if they had room for 2 on the following day at 3, and within minutes I got a reply to say yes we could sit inside.
We have done this trip now 4 times, the captain I think his name was David from memory had such a great sense of humour he really made it very interesting, on the way out he pointed out things of interest, and on the way back we just relaxed and enjoyed the moment.
If in the area again would definitely do it again, thank you so much for fitting us in

Was a good trip on a beautiful October day. Captain very informative and telling us what to look out for. One thing to watch. We thought it was £9.00 for over 65s but were charged £10. Upon checking the website on return we found we were right and we’d been overcharged. It was my 68th birthday.

What wonderful genes you must have !!!
When people are boarding we never dream of asking peoples ages as some could be offended and we rely on being informed
Please do call the office on 01692 630262 and we can arrange for the £1 refund to be made

Great experience, its years since I last went on a trip down the Broads, but certainly will not leave it so long before going again. The commentary on the way down was interesting and amusing the Guitar music on the way back was lovely, I would heartily recommend this reasonably priced tour. Our Host was so helpful even suppling chairs as we were early birds and it was so hot.

Is this suitable for young children (a 2 year old and a 5 year old)?
Lesley8020
Norwich, UK4 contributions
The children tend to enjoy going along the river and seeing the wildlife and quite often if you ask the captain nicely he will let them in the wheelhouse with him
Obviously being a boat they do need to be supervised at all times

Do you do a private hire of the boat?

There are boats for hire but this a multiple person boat and well worth. Sit at top at front for best view. Hope you enjoy it. I don’t know if it is available for private charter but I would imagine so. They have a website. Enjoy.
