Great for otters
Oct 2021 • Couples
We visited as we were keen to see the Giant Otters the park has. We were pleased to see that apart from that they have a significant number of other otters which were great to watch as they ran around jumping and playing! There are also a number of other types of animals as well as a cafe and childrens’ play parks.

The park is easy to find and only a short distance from the main road. We were in there for about 3 hours in total so whilst not a full day experience it is a morning or afternoon event. The staff were all great and there was plenty of information about all of the animals.

We would certainty recommend this site and would return.

Great for animal lovers

Lots to see and do. The otters are hilarious

Visited in October 21 on a Sunday afternoon, as a family with 11 year old son.

Had a great time and the animals are amazing. Lynxes are shy but if you see them at feeding time you will get a better look. Lots of otters and some of them are so funny, very playful and vocal.

The animals look in great condition and there appears to be ongoing work to improve their habitats. The keepers are very knowledgable and happy to answer you questions.

Lots for children to see and do. There is even two adventure playgrounds, one for older children and one for youngsters.

We will deffo be back again

Interesting and enjoyable day out!

Really good day here today. We spent 4 hours, 11am-3pm having a good look round. I’ve never seen so many otters! The Giant Otters were fascinating and the family of Asian Short-Clawed Otters were very enthusiastic about food and a great sight to see. We saw both fed during a keeper talk. The glasshouse was interesting, I particularly enjoyed the harvest mice (very cute!) and the foxes, wish we could have seen the badger but I think that’s summer only. Sadly we didn’t manage to see the lynx and only one wallaby hiding but the wolves were great. Saw some beautiful deer too and lots of lovely owls as well! My highlight was the otters. This is a great place to spend a few hours and even though we didn’t have any children with us, there were two playgrounds (one 6 and under and one 6 and over) which looked fantastic. Would like to visit again, we had never heard of this place til last week and glad we found it! I would recommend bringing a packed lunch, only cafe is at the entrance serving cold snacks.

A great way to spend a couple of hours if you love animals

What an excellent little zoo. Beautifully presented with naturalistic buildings and big enclosures. Lots of information about the animals on display, and a fantastic playground for both children and adults!

It's very evident they care a lot about their animals.

Highly recommend for anyone in the area who loves animals.

A great visit, worth it for the beautiful wolves & lynx!

A really great day out! We enjoyed seeing the animals and it is a really beautiful part of the New Forest. I recommend visiting the enclosures during feeding time (there is a noticeboard near the entrance showing times) when the keepers will appear to talk about the animals. We got to see the elusive Lynx this way!

Complete opposite to a great visit last year!
Sep 2021 • Family
So disappointed. Came here last summer and remember it being such a great day that we all enjoyed. This year it was the complete opposite. It seemed like there was absolutely nothing there. I understand we won’t always be able to see all of the animals, but we must’ve seen a handful. My children were basically looking into empty enclosures. We saw some owls, mice and wolves. Took us a few minutes to get around the whole thing. The kids were more interested in the play park, which massively needs updating. Last time we saw so much and in particular remembered the wallabies. I do understand why the butterfly house is closed, however, all restrictions have lifted so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to have opened it again. Based on this visit we wouldn’t come back nor would I recommend. Fortunately my son is just about to turn 3, so was still free, but I would’ve been even more disappointed should we have had to pay more, as it already wasn’t worth the money Brie the 3 of us.

Good value for money, lots of animals to see, it’s well set out and we enjoyed it so much we went around again. Didn’t see any Scottish wild cats unfortunately 😢

Not an all day attraction
Sep 2021 • Couples
We were looking forward to our day out here but unfortunately it’s not an all day attraction. The map claims there is so much to see and do but I wouldn’t agree. The animals that we managed to see were lovely (a lot were in hiding). We were very disappointed with the gift shop as there was barely anything printed with New Forest Wildlife Park on, for example pens, mugs, bookmarks, postcards etc. The constant chainsaw noise was a little off putting too.

Great Keeper Experience
Sep 2021
We have been several times to New Forest Wildlife and always enjoy our visits. The animals are well cared for and there are paly areas for big & little children. We have had 2 keeper half day experiences this year, the most recent in September. We were so well looked after by our keeper for the morning. We helped prepare food and fed the foxes, otters, boar and deer. Feeding the foxes was special, and love the giant otters. The boar have piglets who are cute and were active in the afternoon. We saw more of the 2 young lynx than we have ever seen at their feeding time. You can get light refreshments. Went with adult daughter & husband.
