Pleasant wildlife park for small children
Pleasant wildlife park with good facilities. A adventure playgrounds, education area, nice cafe, small gift shop and toilets throughout. Was able to see the otters being fed which was good. Other things to see are mainly owls, wallaby’s, deer and wolves. Good for a couple of hours with small children. Felt it was quite expensive for what there is in terms of animals.
Thank you for sharing your review. Visitors support us in helping to carry out vital conservation and rescue work and of course support our other resident animals within their entrance fee. Our animals are ambassadors for their wild relatives. We hope all our visitors, especially our younger ones, may learn to appreciate these amazing animals through seeing them at the park and may want to take part in protecting and conserving them for the future.

    Very Good…….
Well worth a visit, great to see animals kept in large enclosures with plenty of space to roam and explore which is not always the case in other establishments. Really enjoyed the large otters scampering around their home and water feature having fun. Wolves very impressive. I noted the rolls and sandwiches sold in the on site cafe were of good quality and tasty. Good selection available. Well designed site with good signage throughout. There was four talks on different animal species throughout the day by staff members providing a additional knowledge source. A reasonably priced attraction
We are really pleased to hear you feel you had a value visit in the fresh air and hope you enjoyed seeing all our lovely animals. Thank you for commenting on the size of the enclosures - the happiness and care of our animals is really important to us. Every visit supports us to carry out vital conservation and rescue work and support our wonderful resident animals.

    Lovely find
Not too far from us but we have never got around to going. Really lovely place and great staff. The keepers clearly know what they are doing and answered lots of questions. Very knowledgeable. The animals look healthy and enclosures are well kept. Some animals were away but I would always rather this than them be on show when unwell etc. Wolves were amazing! Otters hilarious. The play grounds are great, especially the one for older children! We don't visit zoos anymore and we had reservations about visiting as a result, especially with the wolves being there. Their enclosure is very large compared to zoos I have been to in the past. Many animals have been rescued or are part of endangered breeding programmes. Wolf keeper explained that this pack were captive siblings who had been taken in from a breeding programme but were now castrated. Good value and I can see where the entry fee is being spent. Thanks to all the staff!

    A bit expensive but great
Nice unexpected find. Enjoyed a good view of the wolves and otters and the talk on the deer was interesting as well and a great chance to see them up close. Felt like the animals had excellent enclosures. The lynx maybe too excellent as we couldn't find it. The playground area was brilliant. My toddlers liked the toddler area and my bigger ones the main area, wish there was a way for parents to wait between and supervise both but it worked out. One of the best rope based playgrounds we've been to. Really enjoyed the creativity of the field mouse exhibit too. The only negative thing id say is it was expensive for it's size. But I know you have to combat expensive feed costs and you work with other schemes so I try to cut some slack. 2 children, 2 adults and 2 seniors 70 for just a couple hours just seemed a bit steep
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are very glad you enjoyed your visit. The playgrounds are a big hit for our younger guests (and some of our older ones too!) Don’t waste your money, too expensive for the very little in return
It really isn’t worth the entrance fee, thankfully we had two children under the age of 3 as I’d of been asking for my money back if they were older. Yea they’ve got a park, but I wouldn’t pay £30 for a park. The animals were boring, White wolves, deer, loads of owls (visit the liberty place for that in Ringwood), there was otters, frogs, wallabies, byson and apparently a lynx. Oh and wild bores. The layout isn’t very good either especially with pushchairs. It’s advertised as half a day out…well we were out within an hour and that was with a toddler walking about the place. Really wouldn’t waste your money!

    Fantastic !!
We went for the afternoon. I had been once before and loved it, again had a fantastic time! I absolutely love this place, the lay out is winding and surrounded by a beautiful back drop. The enclosures are really well done, and animals seem to have really nice enrichment/ interactive features in their spaces. I felt the range of animals was nice, and when people complain about not seeing animals it really annoys me, if you have the patience you will see most animals. If the animals are in small enclosures and easy to see people will complain about them not having enough space!! But if they are big enclosures they will complain about not seeing the animals! You can’t win! Additionally throughout the day scheduled talks/feeds are happening. Meaning if there’s an animal which is harder to spot, such as the lynx, they almost always come out for their food! And you get a great view. We also went for lunch in the cafe outside the entrance. It was basic but perfectly nice and what you need when visiting a place like this. And the cost was fair. Overall we really loved the visit! Really cute animals and a great vibe to the place. We will definitely be returning! If I lived closer I would be a regular!
We are very lucky to have such a peaceful and natural location within the New Forest. We are glad you had a positive experience and thank you for taking the time to leave your review; we hope to see you again in the future.

    Beautiful park.
We had a really lovely time here. It took a couple of hours to go round and we saw all of the animals. You get to walk amongst the deer and the Wallabys and it was good fun watching them for a while. The Lynx was fairly allusive but did come out at feeding time which was really cool to watch. The otters completely stole the show for us though as they were obviously feeling chatty when we arrived and gave us a good show. I would definitely return to see some more of the talks as we missed the first few. The staff were really nice and the playground looks amazing - we don't have children but even we would've liked to have a go on it! You can tell the animals are well cared for and have plenty of space to roam as they see fit.
Such a lovely review to read thank you. We certainly do have some very lovable characters here at the wildlife park and a dedicated team. Next time you visit you are very welcome at the Adventure playground - it's for big children too!

    Lovely place
Lovely place, small but perfect for our disabled group. Loved the animal feeding. Restaurant/cafe nice and very helpful friendly staff there. Such a shame about the butterfly house it was my favourite bit.
We are so pleased to hear you and the group had a lovely visit to the wildlife park. Unfortunately, after closing the Butterfly house in 2020 due to the pandemic; the following steep increase in energy prices and the monitoring of our carbon footprint, resulted in its permanent closure. We do hope to welcome you back again in the near future.

    Up close with wildlife.
Spent an afternoon wandering round the park. The sun was out so were the animals. Longer can be spent here if coming with children as plenty of play areas. Lots of hand wash dotted around the site. Harvest mice were a favourite so tiny , so fast. We saw both Lynx at feeding time. Otters were playful. Enjoyable experience. We did not use the cafe so cannot comment on that.
This is a lovely review of our family run wildlife park. Thank you for taking the time to review and we hope to welcome you back in the near future!

We visited the park today and were disappointed not to see much of the wildlife advertised as most of the animals were sleeping or gathered far away from the viewing points. It felt overcrowded, especially in the playground, picnic areas and toilets. Having paid £50 for the family visit, we felt it was very poor value and felt rather let down by it all.

I was shocked that there was no requirement to prebook, given that all other parks/farms/zoos etc have this in place. We turned up at 10:00 and there was already quite a queue to get in. We were informed when we purchased tickets that a one way system was in place, but other than the staff member that we paid at the entrance (and the two that showed us where to park), we saw no other staff members during our 4 hour visit and so there was no one around to actually enforce the one way system. Due to there being no pre-booking requirement, it was extremely busy and the one way systems were ignored. It also meant that everyone who turned up at 10:00 followed each other in close proximity around the entire park. In some areas signs were displayed saying “thank you for wearing a mask in this area” but again there were no staff around to enforce this and so it was pointless. The toilets were not monitored by staff, and were a complete free for all - there weren’t even signs up to ask people to maintain social distancing. Unlike other parks, hand sanitiser was not readily available (a few pumps on the way into animal enclosures but that was it). I was really disappointed and felt very stressed and uncomfortable throughout, resulting in me leaving early.

A lot of the animals were difficult to see (not the fault of the park, but very disappointing that we saw so few animals).

On a positive note, the deer sanctuary was really good and it was amazing to be so close to the deers. It was also amazing to see the wolves which were beautiful.

I do think that the park is over priced for what it is, and unfortunately due to the complete lack of regard for social distancing or covid-19 safety enforcement we will not be returning.

I booked tickets online and was concerned that there was no option to select what day I wanted to go, therefore meaning there wasn't a control on the numbers who could visit - instead tickets are valid for 30 days. When I arrived we were directed into a space which was another concern regarding how many people were going to be allowed in. There was no evidence of extra cleaning of the toilets (I visited Birdworld a few weeks ago and was very impressed by their cleaning regime for toilets) and the only indication that we are emerging from a global pandemic was the signs around the park telling us to keep two metres away and the bottles of hand sanitiser dotted around the park. It was impossible to social distance because there were too many people there and it was a free for all.

We loved the animals but won't go again until the pandemic has gone.

Please dont waste your money visiting the enclosures are all empty (70%) you end up seeing a few foxes. Paid 103 for the family driving from london since they had good ads but bitterly dissatisfied and disappointed
Wrote to them asking for a refund got response from someone called Ed Heap a rude email questioning the tome of my email. Wonder who hired this person who is lacking customer care. May the management need to reconsider the current situation where people have suffered due to covid and this person responding so rudely

We spent a few hours here on a weekday in term time so it was lovely and quiet.

Everywhere was clean and well maintained. Our four year old daughter loved the smaller play area, especially the sand pit. It's nice that they have a separate play area for the older kids.

The animals all looked happy and healthy and the enclosures were nice and big.

The Forest Kitchen was a bit on the expensive side. For sandwiches, crisps and drinks for two adults and a child was just short of £20 so if you're on a budget I'd recommend taking a picnic.

Overall a lovely place and lots to see. Could have easily spent a lot longer watching the animals, especially the otters, but our daughter has a very short attention span!

I really love this place. It's one of my favourite places to bring the kids. The animals are well cared for and the keepers very knowledgable. The play areas are great too. We came 3 weeks ago and it was medium busy and most people were safe distancing and we had a very relaxing day. Have to admit I would avoid this place during the pandemic if you think it might be busy as today we came on a busy Sunday (having bought pre paid tickets) and people were terrible at social distancing. You can't blame the park because all the 2m markers and hand sanitizing stations are in place, it's the people moving in close proximity. Perhaps it could be improved by only letting a certain number of people in the indoor areas at 1 time or having more staff to direct you. We had to hang back quite a lot to let the rush past. Despite the mobs it was a good day though and we got to see lots of animals feeding. The staff have always been v polite here but actually the girl serving in the cafe today could do with a few tips in customer service. I saw her be v rude to someone infront of me and huff and puff when she had got their order wrong and had to refund them. "The customer is always right", despite a stressful pandemic cafe queue!

After paying £12.50 an adult to look at some cute animals we left incredibly disappointed and well.... mugged off. Looking at all the empty tanks as either the glass needed cleaning or there was just nothing in the enclosures! I recommend that you should have an on peak and off peak price as the butterfly walk through was closed for the winter and all the animals were to far away to see!

I've just spent an enjoyable four hours at the New Forest Wildlife Park. The staff are friendly and helpful, from the lady on reception to the keeper who gave a fascinating and in depth account of European lynx.

The park is generally easy walking and, despite a few muddy areas, caused no problems to walk around despite the weeks of torrential rain. The infrastructure is good, with decent car park, signs, toilets, shop and a small restaurant. There is also an adventure playground for children who need to let off steam. The cost is reasonable and I paid £11.50. Yearly membership is available.

The animals are generally European, ranging in size from the tiny harvest mouse to the impressive Wisent (European bison). In between, size wise, you can expect to see creatures ranging from Wild cat and Pine Martin, to Grey Wolves and Mouflon (Mountain sheep). There are most species of European owls and Grey partridges, whose numbers have crashed in the wild.

There are a few creatures from further afield including Giant River Otters from the Amazon. Their area is being updated so looks a little like a building site, but when completed should provide a larger and more interesting area for them and other otter species.

I was most impressed with the recent additional of two eighteen month European lynx sisters. These do not feature on the web site. They are still settling in and one is incredibly shy but the braver one is already proving a big attraction to visitors.

The park is of a reasonable size with good enclosures. There is the opportunity to obtain good photos of most species. I found that it was pleasant to return to several of the enclosures frequently, ie the lynx,as it gave me more chance to actually see and photograph them. Walking between areas was itself interesting as there were plenty of wild birds to be spotted ranging from Goldcrest to Long tailed tits.

It was a good visit, generally peaceful with respectful and interested visitors. I hope the other visitors enjoyed their visit as much as I did.

This was our third visit to the New Forest Wildlife Park in the last couple of years. I would strongly recommend that you visit the particular animal's enclosure at feeding time so that the animals can be seen close up, but also for the informative talks by the Keepers. They answered the questions well from children and adults, and also treated the children's questions with respect. I would also strongly recommend that if a particular animal is not visible at the time you visit their enclosure, then go back later in the day. The animals had enough space, and had a varied diet. Highlights: encountering Wallabies without bars. Also, Wolves and Lynx sisters with the minimum of fencing. We were there from almost opening time to about half an hour to closing. Often the best time is right at the end of the day.

Highly recommend visiting! It cost £12.5 and you don't have to book in advance as you can pay at the entrance. Be aware that you might have very bad or no signal but there is WiFi near the cafe area which is fast and free. I was a bit nervous that uber won't pick before visiting but it wasn't an issue.
