This place is located on Pulau Ubin island. You will find all tiny/small wild creatures. A place where you can watch forest lizards, snakes, forest squirrels, mud crabs etc.. You can walk through the lanes which are laid specifically for public convenience and have a good study of the wild fauna and flora in a peaceful environment.

Walking on the raised platform allows one to see the magrove swamp without wetting your feet, nor destrying the ecosystem below. Exceleltn way of "having your cake and eating it", I guess... LOL

The wetlands area of Pulau Ubin are excellent with loads of wildlife, we were captivated with a lizard hunting mud crabs . The most important thing to check is the tide times. No point coming in the morning at 9am if the tide does not go out till 3pm for example. It swings twice a day so make sure otherwise... More

A well hidden place from commercialization. A nice place to visit during low tide but there are still things to see during high tide. Looking around you can see various birds, crabs, insects and even wild mushrooms. Wild boar and monkey are pretty common here.

I finally brought my family to Chek Jawa for a guided tour with Naked Hermit Crabs on 16 July. I enjoyed the visit and learn much from the passionate volunteer guide. Clues that wild boar has visited the spot. Termite trail on a tree . Various Bird songs. Mud lobster homes, mud skippers personal Swimming pool .... Awesome. It was... More

while most would rent a bicycle and try to cycle to this spot, its actually recommended to travel here by foot. for some reason, the nicely paved roads ends halfway, and that the last 800 metres are tracks made from crushed stones. i guess unless you are someone skilled in "mountain biking" in these kinda terrain, the occurances of people... Chek Jawa was a sleepy place hidden from the general public for many years until it was discovered by the nature loving community in Singapore. It went big time after it was slated for development in that area and call for preservation. Now it is managed by NParks. The opening time is from 0800hr to 1800hr. To reach this location,... More

It is part of Pulau Ubin. As I said in my review of Pulau Ubin, it is beautiful place to relax, you have to take boat to go to Pulau Ubin costs $ 3 per person, then go there on foot or by bicycle which I recommend. The place has wild animals like monkeys, boars, dogs and mosquitos but I... More

One of my colleagues organised this half day hike to Chek Jawa. There were 23 of us, some with families and children. We started off gathering at Changi Point Ferry Terminal around 8:30am. Took a bumboat to Pulau Ubin. Journey was about 15 minutes, fare was S$3.00 per pax (paid directly to bumboat owner). Starting at the jetty, we did... More
