Red Lake it's a beautiful place to visit. You will not regret it. you can rent a little boat and enjoy the view. Or just go for a walk along the lake.

It is a breathtaking place. A canyon with a small river, heavily forested with souvenir shops on the way!! A very nice road for the motorcycle

It's an amazing feeling to drive on a road carved so deep inside the belly of a mountain. Our experience was something like a mixture of admiration and sinking fear. I guess they call it reverence.

Although it has only 8 km. length, each meter traveled is fabulous. There are portions of the road where you can hardly see the sky, because the rocks are so close. The route is easier from Red Lake to Piatra Neamt (the road is downhill),...More

A must seen place, a passageway between the Romanian provinces of Moldova and Transylvania. Don't miss the Red Lake too.

I traveled by car so had the luxury of stopping along the way. The road is winding and narrow.. crowded with tourist side stops and buses. But, a great view looking straight up at the rock formations towering above you. A beautiful spot in an...More

Indeed, there are some waterfalls close to what is called "the Altar Rock" (huge rock with a cross on top, you can't miss it). The trail starts somewhere right after you exit the tunnel, marked with a red triangle. Cross the... More

More itinerary help - again! (3 Replies)
I appreciate all the help I got before and have finalized air tickets and down to 2 itineraries. We really wanted to see Bucovina but I'm starting to get concerned about so many hours in the car and not enough relaxing time. We really enjoy driving, but also enjoy having the time to drive around and pull over when we find something interesting. Traveling with 2 kids, ages 8 and 11 so need to figure in bathroom breaks and such for car rides... First one - Arrive June 30 and stay in...More

I think you should try to see the monasteries, it's a ~5 hours driving time difference between the two routes. You can stop for the night around Bicaz lake or Lacu Rosu if you don't want to drive to Brasov in a single leg.
