Ask Abel if the dinosaur came before the lizard, or if it was the other way. He is passionate and knowledgeable about nature and the area. He immediately found a sloth (one of a few sightings), a helmeted basilisk (and eventually all 3 types native to the area), multiple varieties of poison dart frogs, a golden orb spider, a few eye-lash pit vipers, showed us walking trees, and offered the bullet ant test. Abel shared what he knows about the forest, the plants, and the history of the area in addition to the animals. Very engaging! He also took photos and videos along the way that he later sent us via WhatsApp. Extremely great guide.

Abel is personable, friendly, knowledgable, and fun to go with. Highly recommend him and would both go with him again and buy him a beer hanging out. We enjoyed our time with him in Costa Rica

Abel was a super knowledgeable and really fun to be around. We spent multiple days with him, he went with us to the Bribri village along with his lovely wife, Elizabeth. He also escorted us through Cahuita National Park. Abel is completely fluent in English and happily answered questions we had. He made everyone feel welcomed and included. If you ever need a guide in the area, make sure you contact Abel!

Wow! This was one of my favorite experiences in Costa Rica! My travel partner had our hotel get us contact for a local guide to take us on a guided night tour of Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. Abel was able to accommodate our last minute request and we arranged to meet up a couple days later. He met us at the park and helped us with our ride to get picked up when we were finished and then we started exploring the jungle from the Dark Side! Abel asked us 2 questions: What did we want to see and how far/fast did we want to go? I knew that I wanted to see some reptiles and amphibians... and I was willing to go at a snails pace if that meant seeing more wildlife. Immediately we heard a couple owls chattering with each other in the tree tops, but we couldn't spot them. (they're now on my watchlist!) But soon we were asked if we saw that snake!? NO... where? right there! No.. where?! and he pointed... it was soo hidden that I could have easily touched it by accident and never known it was there! He was able to spot and point out sooo many species that I had never seen before. So many beautiful snakes and crazy looking but still beautiful bugs. He was very knowledgeable about so many of the species we saw it was like walking with google! I had been in this section of the jungle earlier in the week and saw a thousand times more with his expert guidance! We saw more than I ever expected to!
