fun
Jul 2021
Our guide, Yan, was excellent. Seeing howler monkeys at eye level was great. Having breakfast served to you in a tree house, pretty great. However, it stated we would have fruit and snacks but none were given. It stated we would have a solar battery to charge our phone, but again nothing. Kitchenette was just plates and utensils. Would have been nice to have a small backpacker's stove to heat water. And there were huge spider webs along the common areas where we walked. I know we were in nature but if someone had just walked around prior to us arriving, they could have easily taken the huge webs away. So fun getting a web in your face when you are walking to the bathroom. treehouse was great just inaccurate information.
so for the price????

Where humans are part of the nature again...

Incredible experience to spend a night in the jungle and above the treeline with the view of the ocean. The staff is very friendly and makes sure that the safety always comes first. The walk through the jungle takes 30-45 mins. The treehouse is very clean and safe.

Amazing night!
Feb 2021 • Family
This place was amazing! The walk to get there was very cool where we saw several frog species. Getting up to the tree house was an unforgettable adventure, and the dinner and night spent in the treehouse was a once in a lifetime experience. I already want to go back! Our kids had a blast and will remember this for the rest of their lives. This part of Costa Rica is so amazing! We have traveled a lot of places in the world and this is one of our favorites. It is totally worth the money and the experience. He built the treehouse so that the tree would no be damaged at all. It was invigorating to be in the canopy overnight. I am really missing the sounds of howler monkeys right now and nature. Costa Rica is an amazing country! Don’t let a pandemic stop you from traveling there!!!

Best part of my Costs Rica Trip! Unique!!
Feb 2021 • Solo
This was deffinitely a "once in a lifetine" experience! The adventure started with a guided hike through the primary jungle. The guide, Peter, knows all about fauna and flora. He showed and explained me everything. His love and passion for nature is totally catching and makes the trip even more thrilling!
I loved the climbing part which was surprisingly easy. I took my time and I enjoyed the view while getting up there.
The first animal I could observe from the platform was a huge sloth scratching herself forever, while hanging 25 meters over the ground.
I couldn't believe the ecxellent dinner I got up in the Treehouse even with a nice cold beer AND Peter surprised me with a Snickers bar!! That was a real nice surprise!! :-)
The ambiente when the sun went down and the jungle noises set in was undiscribable. This jungle is bursting with life!
Later I enjoyed the luxury of an actual fresh shower up in the treehouse before I went upstairs to the romantic cosy bed.
In the morning they served me a stunning breakfast with fresh hot coffee, cereals, fruits, eggs, toast and jus. It was unbelievable!
Nothing could have been any better!
... Maybe it can be a "twice in a life time"...
I sure hope so!
Thank you Peter, Theo and team. I loved it!

Our highlight of Costa Rica
Jan 2021
Highly Recommended! Everything starts with a nice jungle tour with a very good guide due to his knowledge and his experience. A funny tree-climbing with the ropes. Unforgettable moments, especially in the night. Tree home is better than any 5-star hotel. The combination of the beautiful accommodation and the guide like Peter, made Nature Observatorio our highlight of Costa Rica.

The best experience in Costa Rica!
Jun 2020
We've lived in the area and have traveled all over Costa Rica and the rest of Central America for nearly 7 years now and without a doubt this experience has been our favorite. We just wish we had done it much sooner!

Peter is very kind, patient, and clearly a nature enthusiast. He lead us through the beautiful primary forest, pointing out so many interesting details. We saw so many different types of frogs, snakes, birds, monkeys, insects, and more. We learned about many of the plants and their relationships with each other and their environment. Peter is active in protecting this beautiful forest, and while walking through the dense jungle you are so thankful that he does!

Once we arrived at the treehouse we were blown away by its design and engineering. Pulling yourself up by the ropes is exhilarating and once at the top you're blown away by the beautiful view of the jungle canopy and ocean.

Jan, who helped from the top, was fun and interesting. Also a nature enthusiast, and particularly knowledgable in snakes, he had so many great stories and information to share.

Our boys, ages 9 and 11, absolutely loved this experience. We really look forward to visiting again, and next time spending a night in the treehouse.

Thank you Peter and Jan for the incredible experience!

Wonderful
Mar 2020
Staying at the treehouse was quite wonderful. Despite reading all the reviews, nothing quite prepared us for the feeling of being left alone in the Treehouse for the night.

We were the final guests before Coronavirus closed the Treehouse (hopefully it'll reopen soon) and the communication before the trip was excellent - there was a moment where we thought it would close before we got there but thankfully it didn't.

The trip through the forest was wonderful - Peter knows his woods incredibly well. Arriving at the Treehouse and looking up - IT IS HIGH and be under no illusion, it's physical to climb up to the treehouse, it's not technically difficult but it's hard work and if you are nervous of heights (like me) it's very high when you're up there. However, it's completely worth it. When Peter and Jan left and we closed the trapdoor over we were like children at Disneyland - excited, nervous, overwhelmed, astonished!

The place is amazing - high up, trees all around, animal sounds, the ground far far below. There are hammocks, beanbags and a couch to sit on, there's even a rainwater shower to freshen up, binoculars and wildlife books, fresh fruit; upstairs (yes, there's an upstairs) the bed with mosquito net is comfy and it's lovely to fall asleep with fresh air and the sounds of the forest. We'd arranged the package which included dinner, which you hoist up through the trapdoor when it arrives; due to the Coronavirus outbreak all the shops were closed, so Peter's wife made us dinner and it was lovely - perfectly cooked fish with salad, with a bottle of wine. You really don't need much in the treehouse and it is basic and exposed but that's what makes it special - we sat late into the night in the dark allowing our eyes to adjust (there are lights you can put on) and drunk our wine listening and watching nature - monkeys, birds, insects...and in the morning we woke up to the sounds of howler monkeys and the very early morning light.

In the morning, Peter brought us up a lovely breakfast and then it was time to go. I must admit to being fairly terrified of getting down (back in the harness and down the rope) but actually it was so easy and really quite fun and was nothing to worry about at all.

What Peter and team are doing here - protecting the forests and the environment and showing people that with sensitivity - is so important. It's a totally unique experience which you won't forget.

The Treehouse and how it is suspended is a feat of engineering - it really did blow us away.
