The Manzanillo reintroduction station is located in a primary tropical rainforest at almost 100 m above sea level. The visitors are directed to the top of a hill for a once in a lifetime experience to view Endangered Great Green Macaws in free flight that we have reintroduced into the wild. This tour is a truly inspiring natural experience and a unique photographic opportunity.

Perfect view of the great green aras. They have about 25 of them and they feed them at the visiting hour. Bring your camera out, for this is a treat! Our guide was very informative and also answered all our questions in a satisfying way....More

The endangered Great Green macaw is flying free again in this area thanks to the efforts of the Ara Project. The tour is rewarding because you get to see these beautiful big birds up close, flying around. Very informative too. Recommended! Also for children

Impossible to take photos of them in flight with my level of skill, so I just gave up and watched the magnificent creatures squawking and scrapping for their food. Knowledgable and enthusiastic volunteers and an hour well spent.

Visited twice, first time it rained , so the birds were bored!, the guide told us to come another day for free so we returned the next day and the birds were super active Had a great time, very informative.

The $20 fee is nothing compared to what the volunteers are doing to increase the population of these beautiful birds. The money is well spent. Roberta, our guide, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the work being accomplished here.

A taxi is the best way. He can take you up the hill all the way. And get the drivers cell so you can call him or tell him to pick you up and an hour or so. It's not a long tour.
