- Dr S F SSydney, Australia32 contributionsGreat car museumI rate this as one of Europe's top car museums. The number, quality and variety of vehicles on display is very pleasing. The emphasis through out is on alfa's achievement in motor sport. While motor racing is not my prime interest, I spent 3 interest packed hours in the museum. Alfa romeo cars from the earliest to the latest are displayed, all in beautiful condition. There are even aero engines on show. Now for some criticism. Once you are inside there is nothing displayed about how to get out or to back track. There is also a dearth of technical information, historical background etc for the serious enthusiast. There is a coffee shop/snack bar? /restaurant and a small gift shop to exit by. My biggest criticism is the misleading instructions on how to get there from Milan by public transport. It is easy enough to go by metro to RHO Ferrovia but just try to find the bus stop for the 561 when you get there. I gave up and caught a €25 cab ride. And when you want to leave try finding the bus stop. When I enquired of the staff they barely knew of the existence of a bus stop. I walked for miles and found a bus stop at a shopping mall and was soon back at RHO. Anyway it's a great museum.Visited September 2023Traveled soloWritten September 26, 2023
- Ray NBury St. Edmunds, United Kingdom1,230 contributionsFantastic MuseumThis was the last museum I visited on my holiday to Turin and Milan. Situated in Arese. I travelled by Metro to Rho Fiero Metro station but you can also travel on the overground service there as well. From Rho Fiero I caught a bus, number 561 to the museum. It's about a 20 minute journey by bus to the museum but it is well signposted. From the bus stop it's about a 10 minute walk to get inside the museum. There is plenty to see inside the museum, not just cars but also aircraft engines, a plane and a speedboat. The restaurant/cafe was excellent with a wide choice of food. There is also a shop selling books, clothing, models and other souvenirs.Visited September 2023Traveled soloWritten October 6, 2023

- SussexMarkBolney, United Kingdom202 contributionsGreat museum but buy your bus tickets in advance if travelling by public transportA superb collection of Alfa’s from the early 1900 to 2000’s. All beautifully presented with plenty of space to admire, walk around and take photos of the cars. Museum is set out over 4 levels with each level covering an era or genre. Cafe and restaurant also offer good variety. We travelled by public transport from Milan. M1 tube to Rho was fine but acquiring a bus ticket for the 561 bus which runs hourly was very difficult. Maybe we missed the ticket machine but spent 45 mins trying to find out where to buy the correct ticket at the station. No staff on hand and all ticket offices shut. Eventually bought ATM tickets from machine but refused on the bus as they did not include zone 4. Can’t buy tickets on the bus either. Fortunately a very helpful local on the bus advised us to download the ATM Milano app and buy tickets online to include zone Mi3-Mi4. Tickets can then be validated online. After that hassle, the rest of the day was great but AR museum please update your website to explain for non locals how to acquire bus tickers as it’s not as easy as the website suggests. Bus 561 drops you off near to the entrance and it’s a 10 min walk each way to the museum.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 23, 2024
- RADCTurtonTurton, United Kingdom403 contributionsAlfa heavenIf you are a petrol head then this museum is simply a no brainer, a must see. The exhibits are superbly laid out, well spaced lending themselves to extremely easy viewing. The bistro and restaurant are well above average for a place such as this. It can be a bit of a chore for holidaymakers to get to from central Milan. A taxi from the city centre costs around 45 euros and takes 15/20 minutes. There is a metro that gets you almost there but in typically Italian fashion a bus is required after the metro which can be very hit or miss in frequency and you need a pre booked ticket as there is no ticket machine at the end metro station and they are not sold in the bus. The best way is to get on the 5 euro return fare coach from the side of Milan Centrale rail station that goes to Il Centro shopping mall, a 10 minute walk across the road to the museum. You do have to pre book on line but this is pretty simple and the coaches run all day taking about 35/40 minutes. Well worth a trip.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 27, 2024
- Airborne503Raleigh, North Carolina151 contributionsGreat Museum, plan your transportation well. After visiting the Ferrari Museum a few weeks ago, my expectations for another Italian auto makers. Museum was very high. After visiting the Alfa Romeo museum I believe the expectations were met. The museum was very large and modern and the displays were explained in both Italian and English. I took public transportation from Milan and fortunately enough on the way up there everything lined up and I arrived in a timely matter. On the way back, I found out that the 561 bus ran only every few hours on Sunday and the cost of a Uber or taxi would’ve been €50! my suggestion is to plan out your trip very thoroughly and to find out how often the buses and trains are departing or if in a group it is more than worth it to shell out the money for an Uber or taxi. I was by myself so I saw no need or worth in me paying €50. Also, just like the Ferrari Museum there is not much to do around the Alpha Romeo Museum. In fact there is even less things to do but for the huge mall a few hundred meters away.Visited June 2024Traveled soloWritten June 24, 2024
- TCMelbourne, Australia15 contributionsA tour for the Alfa Romeo fansFor those with a love of Alfa Romeo, this is a great museum. A wide selection of cars over the years to help guide you through Alfa Romeo’s history - including the first car they ever built (in 1910). The race car history is also well presented, and the finishing 4D experience is fun. We had an English-speaking tour - they do these at 11am on the weekend (we emailed ahead, and they organised this). There is a cheap bus to and from IL Centro shopping centre nearby or a taxi from Central Station Milano is around 50 euro.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 27, 2024

Visited this museum with my wife and we both came away impressed. Excellently laid out over 6 floors we spent around 2 hours walking through the history of the marque. The cars hold centre stage but the presentation makes for an ethereal experience. Lunch at the cafe was excellent. The moving pictures a good chance to sit and be entertained. Make sure your camera has enough room on the chip! Great staff.

The museum is really very good. There is all the history of Alfa Romeo, even if some more explanations about the contest in which the car were built would have helped during the visit.
The last part is all about the racing history of Alfa Romeo and it is amazing even if we were expecting the recent F1 but there is only a model of 80s.
Easy to reach, just outside the highway.

Great museum for aficionados. Needs better air conditioning as it was airless. For some reason, we couldn’t access the (very nice) bar at the beginning but had to wait till the end. Weird. But the most annoying thing was the really poor translations which were full of errors; no idea why they didn’t use a proper translator. Maybe they thought Google translate was good enough …

This a good museum, and if you are a car enthusiast – it is amazing. A number of classic Alfa Romeo models. It begins in chronological order, then it shows different variants of the same model, followed by cars in an order that cannot really be understood. Pity, it is a good museum, but it ends in a bit of confusion.

We would like to have lunch at the museum when we visit (probably on a Saturday). Is food served only at certain times and snacks during the remaining museum hours? Is a menu available? Can one leave the exhibits, eat, and return to them? Is there a discount for Alfa Romeo owners? Thanks.

The restaurant, with a daily menu, is open from 12.30 to 2.30 pm, but you can find sandwiches and snacks during the remaining hours. If you leave the museum and you want to come back after lunch you have to ask the staff, because the ticket cannot be stamped twice
