We found Navin on TA and chose to have the dolphin trip with him, although the starting hour was not the most convenient for us having a 9 months old baby and 5 years old toddler. However, the great reviews convinced us and I can just say it was worth every minute of no sleep and every single rupee.
Although it's not a private tour, it felt like it was because there was only another couple with us on the boat. Navin told us he prefers to have less people on the boat so he can offer a better service to each of them.
Our morning started with coffee, home made banana bread (possibly the best I had) and yummy samosas, all prepared by his wife. Navin and his son took us to the place where the dolphins could be found that day and we started swimming. He also came in the water and guided us to best spots to see dolphins. He even guided our 5 year old daughter and she was able to see them. The boat stopped several times and we jumped in the water and swam with them.
Afterwards we went to see the crystal rock and snorkeled in a nice calm area. On the way we even found a red starfish, which was amazing. Once we reached Benitier island, he took us to a private area where we were the only ones. We were able to walk around, swim or just relax on the beach while he was preparing one of the most delicious lunches we ever had. I forgot to mention he served us rum prepared by him with various spices, which really tasted great. While waiting for the grill to be ready, he served some tuna carpacio and then the feast continued with shrimp skewers, fresh fish, lobster, accompanied by gralic bread and salad and it ended with flamed banana with passion fruit.
During the entire day, we felt Navin more as a friend, rather than a service provider. We enjoyed his stories so much and every little personal touch (his son found a baby crab and brought it to us to hold it in our hands, he showed as the Coca Cola drinking geco :)), the starfish, letting us drive his boat a bit, taking photos of us and probably others that don't come to my mind right now) really made the difference.
I cannot recommend Dolphin Warriors enough. Not only was it great value for money, but we feel the small details added so much to this experience which is itself amazing.

We booked a last minute trip with Navin after reading all of the positive comments and discovering that he only does small groups with a maximum of six people. Other tours we looked at were more expensive, had larger groups and had less time out on the boat. Navin also arranged a taxi to pick us up from our hotel in Bel Ombré which was around a half hour drive away.
We were really hoping to see whales but knew there was no guarantee of this. It was a super early start but it was definitely worth it as we got to snorkel alongside a humpback whale with a calf. We then went off to swim with spinner dolphins but for us the humpback whales were definitely the highlight.
Navin has a passion for what he does and respects the animals. He ensured that we all had a great time and left the boat happy. It truly was an unforgettable experience.
The sea can be a bit rough at times, I would recommend taking a towel and some spare clothes in a waterproof bag to put on after the trip as even whilst sitting on the boat you are likely to get wet.

Myself and my wife were on our honeymoon together and we were told so much about the swimming with dolphin experience in the south west of Mauritius. There appeared to be multiple tour organisers hosting this experience. I chose Navin the Dolphin Warrior as his company got an excellent rating.
The day sets off early, and Navin himself picked us up from our hotel in Le Morne (about a 10 minute drive). When the speedboat set off, we saw the sunrising over the island which if it was clear would have been incredible, but was still special none the less. He provided coffee for us all. It took some time to find the dolphins but we were the first boat there and as such got the opportunity to swim with them when there weren't too many people. Navin is very clear about not touching or disturbing the dolphins which I approved of. Someone in our group had been unlucky and had not managed to get the opportunity to see them in the water and swim with them, so Navin went out of his way to ensure everyone had at least had 1 good opportunity to do it which was very good of him. I managed to do it 4 times which I am very grateful for.
After that we had some glorious homemade samosas on his boat then went for some snorkelling at a reef with very good underwater visibility. He then treated us to some really good rum which was steeped with multiple spices (which I won't name as I do not want to reveal his amazing recipe). We went to a secluded part of Ile Aux Benitiers which is a long island just behind the reef line, which was extremely peaceful and the perfect backdrop to a great lunch. He ensured we went to a private part of the beach away from the other tour groups. He catered very well to vegetarians as well (which is something I found difficult overall in Mauritius) and put together a tasty Gratin and lovely seasoned BBQ vegetables. Everyone else also enjoyed excellent BBQ fish and chicken.
It was a shame to finish the day, definitely our favourite day of our honeymoon. If you want to see / swim with dolphins in their natural environment and have an overall great day out on a boat with an amazing beach in great company I wouldn't look elsewhere.

Navin organised just the prefect trip. We met early in the morning to be able to be at sea before the other boats to look at dolphins, and behold behold, he took us to swim with two humpback whales too! It was simply magical. We spent some time with the whales and went off to swim with the dolphins, which was a dream come true for us. Navin (and his wonderful family) is the perfect example of knowledge and passion mixed together, and what this winning combo can do in order to provide something that is truly unique. He’s respectful of the animals we encounter and taught us how to swim with them.
We ended up the morning having a OH MY, FANTASTIC bbq on a private beach before coming back.
Let’s not forget he made us try some super traditional Mauritian food on the way back, to make us see with our own two eyes what real Mauritius is.
If you want a serious, experienced and yet super nice, funny and always smiling guide to take you to the perfect trip, Navin and Dolphin Warrior is the place for you. Don’t miss it for any reason.
Thank you Navin, Dylan and all the amazing people we met today, you truly are a bless to the island.

Many thanks to Navin for a wonderful tour and excellent emotions!
Thanks to Navin, we met whales, although, as you understand, there is no guarantee.
Navin also did his best to make the dive as spectacular as possible, we dived right near to the whale.
After the whales, we swam to the dolphins and met them and swam with these kids!
It was also very nice when Navin treated us to homemade goodies that his wife cooked.
If you want to meet these beautiful animals for sure and get the most out of diving, we highly recommend using the services of Navin!

I messaged Navin in advance based on his great reviews to see if we could book a private whale and dolphin watching day with lunch for my husband’s bday. He was great at replying in a timely manner and happy to answer questions.
He picked us up from the meeting point and took us to the boat. It’s an early start but totally worth it as he gets out on the water before it gets too busy. He’s a warm and friendly guy and really takes great care of you all day.
We saw whales, dolphins, turtles and starfish. My husband got in and snorkelled with the dolphins. Navin provided coffee and delicious homemade samosas as a morning snack! We then went to Crystal Rock and Benitier Island for a delicious lunch - we had oysters, sea urchins, grilled fish, loungestines, salad and garlic bread - everything was delicious!
Navin really takes pride in ensuring you have a good day. He’s mindful of sea sickness and picks calm routes and if the weather is choppy he gives you towels to minimise the splashes!
He takes you to a secluded part of Beniter Island which is stunning and feels so special to enjoy lunch. The food is fresh and soo delicious. They even organised a cake and some wine for my husband’s birthday without me even asking!
If you book, take towels, warm clothing for the early morning start and swimwear, shorts/t-shirt for when it warms up.
Navin made my husband’s birthday a very special day for us both. Totally recommend!

Me and my partner had an incredible time with Navin and his skipper – which today was his son that normally studies with focus on marine biology. They both made it such a personal experience. Outside of swimming next to wild dolphines multiple times, we also got to snorkle with smaller fish and hold a giant starfish.
I have rarely come across such a heart-warming person as Navin. He made sure everyone got the most out of their experience and even jumped in the water himself and swom with the ones that hadn’t succesfully seen the dolphins yet.
Throughout the morning we were given little homemade treats and coffee, and then they showed us how to prepare the freshly caught lobster and fish for lunch. At the beach, for lunch, we had a great time nearly by ourselves. Navin and Dolphin Warrior use a flat bottom boat which allows them to go to more shallow parts, away from the crowds. Also noteworthy is that Dolphin Warrior aims to keep the amount of people in the boat low to give everyone a better experience.
We so highly recommend going with Dolphin Warrior.

Today we had an amazing trip. We were 9 people: 2 families of friends with children 12, 13 and 14 year old and 2 twenty year olds. This trip was perfect for all in our group, Navin was very attentive and took EVERYONE individually to see the dolphins (we all followed anyway!). We saw 2 kinds of dolphins, swam with them and heard them making their amazing noises!
The dolphins seemed to enjoy being followed and stayed with us for a while. Such beautiful creatures…
Nevin and King have been working in this sector for 10 and 15 years and the evidence of this was clear - they knew where to be and where to direct us so we can swim with the dolphins.
We then went on to snorkel and visited the crystal rock.
We were offered coffee, samosas, soft drinks and water, which was a nice touch.
The trip exceeded our expectations, we saw everything we wanted and now have some unforgettable memories, all thanks to Nevin and King’s impeccable service.
We have no hesitation recommending this trip, look no further!
Perhaps one advice - take big towels or waterproof light jackets - we got soaked on our way there! 😅

This is an honest review. last days of December 2022. Other tour operators are not flexible anymore with a pick up from the hotel. This tour operator is flexible. Flexibility is the key if you do not know the way. I find this tour operator the most flexible, and offering the most enjoyable tour regarding swimming with dolphins. They are service minded with respect to nature and of course dolphins. Jean Yves was very good to maneuver the boat close to the animals and not scare them, just put the motor off in time. The boat then gently glides through the water close to the dolphins. You then go into the water. The tourist are well informed by Dylan. You don't have to go into the water if you only want to watch (families). We had choice in how often we wanted to go into the water. That is luxury. The boat also stopped at snorkeling spots were the other boats did not go. This gave a feeling of exclusivity. We had a nice breakfast before we got into the water and on the island a good meal was prepared. I will go for a 2nd time, because the atmosphere was good. This was a very good day.

My wife and I have booked the long swimming with dolphins tour after receiving the very positive recommendation from our host in La Gaulette.
The tour consisted of swimming with dolphins, a round of snorkeling, a pass by of the Crystal Rock and was finished with a freshly prepared BBQ on the Benitier Island.
The tour was exactly as promised and the service was great! We were able to observe and swim with different types of dolphins. The snorkeling that followed was a calming contrast to the very energetic dolphins. On the island we then were completely spoiled by Navin and were able to relax and process the experiences while he prepared a delicious BBQ for us. Our personal highlight was the fresh and perfectly grilled tuna steak.
Be aware that the water around Benitier Island is too shallow for swimming, but you'll probably already have your fill for the day at this point.
I would absolutely recommend everyone to make a trip with Navin if you ever wanted to swim with dolphins!

Well...my fiancè doesn’t swim but he had fun to take pictures from the boat!
I’m not scared by high water and I swim a little, and you don’t have to dive but snorkel..

Hello Glad to hear you are chosing the Dolphin Warrior. You didn't mention which month you are travelling but I would recommend you contact Navin directly at DW (that is what we did). He will reply with the prices and availability. He will also arrange a taxi to collect/return your party (Paid to the driver) but the price will largely depend on where you are staying on the island. We were over an hour away!!
It was such an amazing trip and I wish I was coming with you!
