Once again had a happy evening in the Gordon Arms. Wonderful atmosphere with the really talented Tina T. She can sing ANYTHING!
Can't wait to see her again.
So thanks to Mandy and her staff for an enjoyable time.

Despite living in the area for years, I only visited The Gordon Arms for the first time recently. I has now become my local bolt-hole away from the world. The majority of those frequenting seem to be long term loyal locals. They are also a friendly and inclusive bunch and the staff are very welcoming. If you want somewhere dog and child-friendly, with Wi-Fi and cappuccinos, look elsewhere. This is a traditional boozer for real ale aficionados and those who like a bit of old fashioned charm.

Awful Pub. Awful staff. Awful atmosphere. Staff are rude, only like to see to locals. That's not how you create business. Won't return. Upon expressing my disgust for this pub to many, suprisised my views are shared upon many.

Visited here to watch the football on Wednesday. The landlady is one of the most rude people I have ever come across, Aswel as their being a incident outside which she seemed to be at the centre of goading people involved. Think it’s a terrible attitude to have if you are part of staff. Wouldn’t visit again nor recommend to anyone

Hi Faulkner,
Thanks for the review, albeit it’s not a positive one. We have to acknowledge that due to England losing, it was led to believe this may have caused some upset with new faces to the pub. Just to like to take this opportunity to say that this wasn’t the landlady and the incident was managed accordingly.
We hope, and welcome to see you again!
Thanks,
The Gordon Arms

started the afternoon well few pints in waiting for the football, after the game shall we say got out of hand. I had a chicken burger violently smacked out my hand by a local! what words cannot describe how shocked I was over this!! Only upside to this gaff was the lovely little dog.

Hi there,
We are VERY upset to hear that this has happened to you and shocked that this would have been any one of our locals! We can only apologise for this rare incident and I'm pretty sure this would not happen again. The dog is great we agree - but there are other upsides with us also! :)
Regards,
The Gordon Arms

We have visited The Gordon Arms a number of times over the past few months and the improvements the new owners have made were much needed and are very evident. Fantastic !!!
The updated bar area is clean & comfortable and the new garden is looking great especially now the sun is shining.
Unfortunately there appears to be a few things which still need to addressed..... the bar staff are not particularly attentive and tend to lack basic communication skills, a "please" & "thank you" are always greatly appreciated by customers.
The bar is often left messy and not kept clean especially after drinks have been accidentally spilled.
I have overheard a number of people commenting that the choice of wine is extremely limited and only available in small bottles. You only need to visit any decent pub nowadays to see how a great choice of wines is imperative to their success.
Obviously the refurbishment work is ongoing therefore we hope that it is only a matter of time before the toilets are updated to 2018 standards.

Hi Tony,
Thanks very much for the review and agreed, we have made some great improvements haven't we! :). Understandably, we aren't quite there yet and rebranding and bringing life back into this pub will take a while - with support like yours I'm sure we will be there in no time.
Many Thanks,
The Gordon Arms

Do you open on Christmas day for lunch and will you be for Christmas 2019
Written December 31, 2018
Hi Pollyanna,
We open between 12-3pm on Christmas day but do not serve during this time. It will most likely remain this way in 2019 also.
Thanks!
