I'm always visiting High Elms as I am lucky enough to live just 10 minutes walk away. Easy walking access from the village through the woodlands.
Also easy to find by car too. Signposted clearly all the way. Small car park at the main entrance, you can also access the park through the golf course car park or carry on up the hill to another car park. Suitable for dog walking
The grounds are always very well looked after. There used to be an interesting nature trail and information centre, this is now a small cafe which I am yet to visit

Woodland lovely to walk around. A number of people still don't understand social distancing unfortunately, and the toilets were disgusting, not even any soap. Considering we are going through a pandemic it would be safer to shut them than leave them open in that condition.

Absolutely love this place. I take my sons to the home education group on a Tuesday morning and it’s been excellent for them both. Older one has grown in confidence hugely and looks forward to attending every week. Thanks to Spider and Lydia for running the group and thinking of such fun things for the children to do.

Visited with my two toddlers, so much space for them to run around but then suddenly realised we was on the golf course.
Once found where we were going the woodland walk was so beautiful. Toilet facilities were fine but at the start/ end of the walk. Friendly people around, great for picnics.
Car park is very small so bit of a nightmare to park.

Because of covid this was a welcome walk with my wife and daughter. It is a huge park with lots of places to walk to with old ruins to view that have notices telling you what buildings were there and what they looked like, you can also wander on to the High Elms Golf Course and pick up lost golf balls as nobody can play at the moment. Also a cafe there for a hot drink and they also do food all to take away.

A new place for us to walk with dog . Woodland and open area . Great find . Not least the cafe . Good menu but importantly the food was freshly made and very tasty . Nice staff and given how busy it was , the waiting time wasn’t too long . Outside benches and lots of satisfied customers . Dog treats available at counter ! Will be back

Great place to take a walk or enjoy a picnic. We went there with our new born and took a walk with her in a sling. There is lot of well maintained green spaces as well as a pathway into the wooded wilderness. Highly recommended!

Tranquil & beautiful gardens, walks & woods...but...the car park is ridiculously small for the amount of people that it attracts, dogs are running off of leads, a messy & unfriendly cafe let the place down. Bins were also overflowing with rubbish from which a dog was feeding out of.
I understand that it's a dog walkers paradise but they need to be kept on leads. I am too a dog owner before you think I dislike dogs but I was sitting enjoying a picnic with my mum & my 3 children when a huge dog came bounding over off of the lead without an owner in site...our picnic was walked all over & my little boys ball was bitten & burst...! When the owner did appear she couldn't have cared less, put him on the lead & walked off as if we were in the wrong...stuck up toff. You can't have dogs running free & picnicing families...someone will get badly hurt.

We regularly walk our dog in these woods. There's lots of other friendly dog walkers and a lovely cafe. Our Springer Spaniel absolutely loves it. Lots of undergrowth to chase through this is one of the best spots. It' has a few hills but also has a flatter trail for those who prefer.
