Always a good choice if you have an hour or two to spare. Lots of goods to rummage through, something for everyone. Staff are always warm, friendly and helpful (bear in mind that they are not in control of prices- the individual dealers who rent space set their own pricing and refunds).

We have visited Halstead Mill antique centre many times over the years and have rarely come away empty handed.
It is a real gem for anyone looking to while away a couple of hours, two floors of more vintage fare then antiques but packed full of interesting items.
The only thing I would say is to be sure to wrap up as whatever the time of year it’s varies from chilly to downright cold inside and you certainly won’t want to be making a speedy exit once you’ve seen the selection on offer.

Two floors with a wide range of all sorts of collectables, antiques and bric a brac to interest most people. The usual style of unattended individual trader units with a centralised cash desk. Friendly staff and lots to consider. Prices obviously vary in value according to stallholder. Set in a lovely old mill beside the river.

I returned here after an absence of some 10 years and was saddened by how forlorn the mill was looking. The restaurant downstairs was closed, although there was renovation work going on inside. The antiques upstairs were ok, some interesting displays, some not so interesting. Lots of things that I wouldn't necessarily consider antiques, more like bric a brac. Nevertheless it was an enjoyable way to while away an hour or so.
There are lots of stairs, there are handrails, but some of the steps are quite narrow. Staff were nice and helpful.

Absolutely loved this antiques centre. Has apparently over 100 dealers offering a really varied selection of antiques and retro items - truly something for everyone. Be warned - you need at least a couple of hours there to truly take everything in. I can't wait to go back again especially as I now know where to park.

Re visiting afer several years out of the area our impression was that there is more what can be described as general bric a brac than before, but there is still quality and good value to be found at some dealers if you know what you are looking for and at. The maxim caveat emptor should be observed and if you are in any doubt, walk away. That said this is still an interestingPleasant and rewarding place to pass some time and purchace an item or two.

Visited this centre for many years but it’s not what it used to be having changed hands. Indifferent staff and not even willing to give any different price to what’s on the ticket so it’s just like any high street shop….no negotiation on any of the items I wanted so I walked out with nothing. It used to be a friendly establishment but not any longer.

Arrived in Halstead and made a beeline to the Antiques centre , fabulous place for a browse , not overpriced and easy viewing. Bought a pair of Art Deco picture frames and over the moon with them.

We happened upon this place whilst driving through Halstead and thought we would take a look.
From the outside it’s tired and rundown and seen better days. Inside is two floors of various items bric a brac some interesting items but overall quite disappointing unfortunately, but friendly staff .

A one way system now introduced to look at lovely antiques & a whole range of retro & collectable items being shown in small alcoves, cabinets & on shelves. Be aware there are several stairs to climb. And no cafe found here.

Can you tell me where the nearest Car Park is pleases ?
We have a small car park at the Mill.
Turn off the A131 on to Kings Road ( it's a mini-roundabout by an Esso petrol station), then turn left on to Factory Lane West. Almost immediately, turn left by the pedestrian crossing on to the Causeway. Turn right immediately into the car park at the front of Halstead Mill.
Give us a call if you get lost - 01787 474451 and we will guide you in!
