This is a tremendous Mayan ruin and well worth the effort to get there. The road is reasonably good and we made good time. It's about 1.5 hour drive into the ruin from the main highway and then it's about a 30-40 minute hike into the ruins from the parking lot. There were some other people, but we felt that... More

Theses ruins are well worth the drive. The roads are easy to drive, and the directions pretty straight forward. Once you get there you will be transported to another time. Jungle trails and amazing ruins. Our guide was very informative and worthwhile.

We loved these ruins! The New York City of the Mayan world. Well worth the journey to get there. Which is significant. Extensive ruins. Lots to climb and explore! They said the long route would take about 5 hrs. We took 6.5! Definitely climb those pyramids that allow it, the view is amazing. Seeing and hearing the large group of... More

Really not easy to reach it! We negotiated with a taxi driver in the village for an our to get a good price and for him to agree to take us there (normally taxis are not alowed to enter the park). He took us in his personal car. Four hours (taxi waiting time) are just enough to go up the... More

You feel like a discoverer when you enter the site. Trails take you through the jungle to the temples. On the way you might see several animals. We spotted howler monkeys and spider monkeys. The temples are still surrounded by trees. When you climb you feel like being on top of the world as you can see only treetops. This... More

I was lucky to be part of a private tour of the site and learned a great deal about the buildings before having the opportunity to climb the ruins; but many others there were touring the site on their own. The rise on building 2 was definitely easier to tackle, but if you're able to take the larger rise steps... More

Incredible site within the jungle. We climbed the pyramids, saw animals like dears, monkeys, incredible birds. The road to the site is easy, but a bit long.

This was the best ruins we visited during our May 2016 trip through the Yucatan. We also visited Chitzen Itza, Ek Balam, and Tulum. The 63 km potholed road from highway 186 was an adventure, but kinda fun -- like a one hour video game. Allow plenty of time to get here and explore. We took about 5 hours from... More

My boyfriend and I drove here from Campeche. Stocked with plenty of water and snacks, we left at 7:30am and arrived almost exactly 4 hours later. We went down route 180 and then along 186. The drive isn't particularly pleasant as it's mostly a fast, one-lane country road and you're constantly slowed down by speed bumps and lorries. The turn... More
