Spend the day in the jungle and caves on this private caving adventure....

Spend the day in the jungle and caves on this private caving adventure. Visit the caves of Actun Halal & Chapat seeing and visualizing the past when the Mayan's used these cave for their ceremonial rituals. Gaze at huge formations and rooms that were formed ions ago. Incredible/ mystical/ beautiful/ and mysterious. Located on my private property, you will ride in the Rover 6 miles over a track that once was used by chicleros. Not a “tour”, more of a trip with new friends. After walking through huge chambers and rooms you will reach the “skylight”. Here, with sunlight and fresh air streaming in you can satisfy your hunger with fresh-home made burritos, and take a well-deserved rest. After exploring and enjoying the environment further, head back to the rover to enjoy an ice cold beer, soft drink or water. I like to share this trip with the people that enjoy doing something different, getting off the beaten tourist trail. It is a special place, one that should be experienced. Please email for details as this trip is NOT for everyone. It requires a sense of adventure, love of nature, a level of endurance and physical coordination.

The day trip to visit this cave operated by Belizean Sun Tours is hands down the most impressive caving experience offered in the country of Belize. I've poked around at least a dozen caves in the area and the number of artifacts combined from those other caverns can't compare to what you'll experience in this single location. History and adventure... More

Belizean Sun Tours is AWESOME!! I’m a traveler that doesn’t like to do the typical tourist attractions. I produce travel TV shows and I prefer to integrate with the local people and the culture as much as possible. I met Kenneth Dart (owner of Belizean Sun Tours) through a shoot we were doing for a show. We actually filmed in... More

If you're looking for an adventure, then this is the place! The trip starts by traversing rough country in a Land Rover truck driven by the guide, Ken. After you reach the remote parking area, it's time for a hike. This is something that any adventurous person should experience.

Ken picked us up at our guest house (Benque Resort & Spa) for a wonderful day in the jungle. He was an excellent, knowledgeable guide, and we had a great time! His wife made a delicious lunch, which we ate in a cave opening during one of the rainy season's cloudbursts.

Ken picked us up at the guest house in the morning and drove us out to the Actun Chapat. On the drive out, he and Leo told us about the history of the area and pointed out interesting features in the surrounding landscape. My husband and I are both cavers, and had been disappointed in the lack of time underground... More

This is one of the highlight trips that we have ever taken. The experience was totally awesome. the cave is impressive and much larger than what we had expected. We discovered numerous underground lakes that were pristine blue and emerald colors. Ken let us take an amazing tour further than anyone else had ever gone before inside. So we really... More

My fiancee and I decided to book a tour with Ken after reading all the great reviews on Tripadvisor. The whole day was a blast. From the land-rover ride out to the site, exploring the artifacts and wildlife, even the delicious lunch. Ken took great care in making sure we enjoyed the tour. It was a great way to spend... More

Actun Chapat is one of the wildest cave adventures you will find in Belize. It is remote and an intimate adventure with nature above and below ground. ( note many of the other cave tours in this area are so over booked you will find your self elbow to elbow with 50 other travelers or in cave that is totally... More

After reading about the Actun Chapat tour on Tripadvisor and in the New York times online travel guide, I contacted Ken to arrange a day tour of Actun Chapat for my family (wife, myself and three daughters 21, 15, and 11). This day was a highlight of our vacation! After an adventurous ride to the property in the back of... More

Spent a week (March 2013) in Belize with two Grandsons (16 & 18 yrs.). Did standard tourist activities-ATM cave, Black Hole drop, Snorkeling at Pelican Pouch/Dandriga. The adventure the boys absolutely enjoyed most was the visit to Actun Chapat/Halal with Ken Dart. The rough ride in the vintage Land Rover, hike in the jungle, and the caving experience with Ken...
