Must visit !
Aug 2019 • Couples
A place not to be missed when u visit this temple. Too bad we are rushing off due to our late arrival in Betong (Malaysia jam), we did not stayed long to view the whole place before setting off to view other places of interest. The tour guide only keen to finish her itinerary for that day.

Peaceful visit
Sep 2018 • Friends
Having visited many temples, this is one has lesser tourist. build above a small hill top, the ground was littered with strong trees of good strong wood (Jati woods). We prayed with purchased flowers & joss sticks, moving to the second storey & could not see the relics. With a peaceful heart, our group took pictures from the steps & the visit ended just in 20 minutes.

Big Beautiful Temple
Jun 2018 • Family
A place must see while in Betong. This spectacular stupa sits atop a hill, approx 750m east from Betong clock tower intersection.
A bronze Big Buddha statue which measured 39m wide and 39.9m high, sitting at the front gate of the temple.
It is a Big Buddhist Wat, a good place to visit, take photo and etc.
There is no entrance fee.

Beautiful Temple
Feb 2018 • Solo
There is no information provided the visitor about this Temple, so please don’t have any expectations of learning anything about it from a visit. That said, it is about as “must-see” in Betong as anything (and to be frank, there are no must-sees in Betong). As with everything in Betong, the world will not stop revolving should this Temple be overlooked. If one has seen a billion Wats all over Asia, this isn’t likely going to add anything to the mix unless one is a scholar on Buddhist architecture or iconic Buddhist art and can appreciate how this complex and these structures vary from others or more traditional types. To be sure, I haven’t a clue.

Even so, I could appreciate the unusual layout of the entire complex. For one, everything was built on a sloping hill, with the padoga at the top and the large bronze Buddha at the bottom. The interiors of the structures are sparsely finished and not nearly as ornate as the detailing on their exteriors. I pretty much had the entire complex to myself other than the monks who were there and a couple of people sitting in the shade inside the entrance. I walked from the center of town. It took me about 12 minutes. Access is only from the bottom. Several side streets abut the complex, but there is no egress. I found this out by approaching the temple front the side, mid-slope. There was a gate which may sometimes be open (it slides) but it was locked.

Beautiful surroundings. Stunning sightlines. Perfect setting overlooking the mountains surrounding Betong.

Big Buddha .. Must See
Nov 2017
If you are a visitor to Betong, your trip is NOT complete without a visit to this temple.
The temple was built to commemorate the queen's birthday.
There is no entrance fee.
At the front entrance, lies the big bronze buddha which measures 39m wide and 39m tall.
It is a magnificent view that will take your breath away.

As you climb to the higher floors , you will get to enjoy the tranquility the surrounds the temple.
These days they even provide free wifi. What a bonus!!!

At the top you will get a nice panoramic view of the greenery and mountains the surrounds Betong.
Truly very relaxing. Only caveat is the temple closes at 5:00pm.
Good thing is, temple is less than a kilometer from town center.
Thus getting there should not be an issue.

Go check it out. You will not regret the experience.

What2Do in Betong - Must DO @ Betong
Mar 2017 • Family
If you are visiting Betong but do not visit this temple, I don't think you have visited this town. It is significantly large temple at this Southern Thailand and it has the nicest view if you climb until the top. Pretty quiet during normal days.

Tips:
1. The stairs are quite steep and elderly people may need to walk slowly or holding the rail.
2. It may be challenging for disability friends.
3. Climb to the top, it is quite high though, but the view will be nicest.
4. It is free entry.
