The creek Del Moraig is one of the most scenic place on the Costa Blanca. On October the place was almost empty but in summer the place must be so crowded... Wonderful lanscape, good snorkeling on the two sides with maybe a best choice on the right. Unfortunately, this place lost a big part of its charm because it is in the heart of the biggest and the ugliest residential area of the coast (that you can see from everywhere on the coast), which built until the limit of the falls surrounding the beach ! It's crazy to continue to destroy the natural landscapes along the Spanish coast after the past mistakes done during decades... The ban to go down by car ( obligation to park at the top) could be a good thing to reduce a bit the crowd on the beach (a big hill to climb by the road to leave the beach).

We went by car. There is a parking lot and afterwards you have to walk through a paved way to the beach. It goes downhill so it is okay but when going back to the car it can be a bit tiring but nothing terrible, just be prepared. The beach has some caves to the right side, lots of people were going there to take photos however I did not find it impressive. Especially with the lack of light you cannot take good pictures unless you have some good equipment. The beach has some small stones/sand. It is large and calm compared to city beaches.

Really lovely beach and caves hidden from the normal beaches. It’s a bit of a winding drive to get to but completely worth it! Really good walk around the cliffs around it too.

I have been going to Cala de moraig for some years. There has always been a Spanish chiringito there with reasonable prices and a good beach atmosphere.

This year it was different. The usual chiringito had gone and in its place is another restaurant/cocktail bar. This bar used to be on the beach but a little further along. What has now happened is that they must have bought the other place so it has become a manopoly.

My advice to anyone going to Cala del moraig is to take a picnic. The restaurant is extremely pricey (2.80 for a coffee). They don't do any sort of breakfast. If you want bread with Ali oli it will cost you the grand price of 6.50! They don't do any sort of bocadillo (Spanish filled roll) and could only offer some melon at 6.50 which was chopped but the skin was left on.

All in all we found that this has now spoilt what we thought of as a local Cala with its charming chiringito.

If you don't mind spending a couple of hundred euros for a family of 5 that's fine. I call it daylight robbery as they are the prices that I would expect to pay in a good restaurante In Madrid.

This is a personal view obviously but one worth sharing as the Cala is very small and parking extremely difficult. Once there with no food you're trapped. The restaurant name is Coco!

Cala del Moraig, Cumbre del Sol Benitachell, this beach is immediately below where we live, it is a small very pleasant beach with an "in season" cafe/bar where drinks and meals can be had. We often pop down in the evening for a coffee. The car park has suffered over the years by frequent storms which has destroyed the car park. The cafe is assembled at the start of the season (May ish), and removed in October. You now have to park on the steep hill road or at the top and walk down, get the fittest member of your party to drive down to the bottom and drop the rest of you all off! However you get there it is well worth the visit, Juan who manages the cafe will always give you a warm welcome. Can get crowded in August and at weekends.
The beach at the far end is a nudist beach.

A beautiful cove to visit. The Chiringuito has a great choice of excellent tapas. The paella was the best we have had, since moving to this wonderful country 5 years ago.

It's remote location enclosed by high cliffs makes it unique. For a day on the beach I prefer a sandy beach. There's a beautiful cave where the comes in and a nice path to walk for scenic views. A little restaurant with an outside bar and only seating outside which was too cold for me that day to be served. Besides that the prices were way too high for simple dishes, but maybe the quality was spectacular.. I didn't try.

Beautiful Cove with stunning views, pebble beach with a steepish shelf is great for swimming when you are past the breakers! Top tip for families is to drop them off at the turning area at the beach and drive back to park, also arrive early. Dad's can earn massive brownie points by walking up the steep Road to get the car at the end if the trip. Also the bar looked great, but IMHO a sand free beach makes for better picnics! Don't let the moaners on TA put you off this stunning little beach, take the warnings, if you want sand and banana boats, dont visit, if you want to spend a day somewhere special, do!

This is a lovely, natural cove in the Sumbre del Sol region- definitely one to prefer , compared to many of the city beaches. It can be crowded, but still feels much more natural and relaxing. The waves are quite large and strong here , though and the water is not shallow, so it is probably not the best option for small children families. Lifeguards are on duty though, and there is a smaller cafe that serves small dishes, paella and cold and hot beverages. Toilets are available as well. Parking is on the road above the beach and in the peak season you may expect to have to walk quite far on the somewhat steep road. leading to the beach. Be early, or exercise your butt and thigh muscles!
