Although the photos are a little deceiving as to the actual size of this attraction (it's quite small), we did have a wonderful time. The setting is very quiet and peaceful. I had no idea that it included a swimming pool with lounge chairs, a...More

Jumping into the blue hole is an amazing experience. My wife and kids joined and inside the blue hole cave was a great experience. There's also a mineral spring pool, great bar, and smoothies and snacks for the kids. We were staying only 10 minutes...More

Not at all what we expected. There may be a reason you pay before seeing what it’s all about. Literally a small, deep hole in the ground. You can either jump or climb down a ladder to reach the mineral water. The stoned workers were...More

This place is tucked up in the hills, and takes about a 30-45min taxi ride to get to ($80US round trip). It’s fairly unassuming as you walk up to the blue hole, but then you see the ladder down and the hole. As you get...More

Took a taxi ride from Negril through the long and windy roads to the Blue Hole Mineral spring. I have to tell you that this was a big disappointment and if you pay the $10 you can jump in the hole, or pay $5 to...More

Great experience. Knowledgeable guides. The guides are informative and put on an awesome show. There is a swimming pool with the same mineral water as in the hole. Water was beautiful. The hole has jumping or a ladder to enter. We had a great time....More

I brought my toddler with us. There's no fences and you do have to keep an eye on the little ones at all times. But my 2 year old had a great time on the mineral pool and he never attempted anything crazy.

The Blue Hole Mineral Springs is outside of Negril which would be about 4 hours from Ocho Rios the cool blue hole outside Ocho Rios should be about 20 minutes from the cruise port

For that amount of people I would set that up through your hotel and split the cost. The driver can wait there for you and that is a nice thing. They can play dominos while they wait. It is a nice outing, beautiful scenery

Rooms at Blue Hole Mineral Spring (9 Replies)
Has anyone stayed at or even just toured the rooms at the small hotel at the Blue Hole Mineral Spring? I am considering them for two nights in april before moving to our AI. I have been to the hole so I know what to expect from the location but was just curious what the rooms are like. Wondering if they have porches/balconies, a/c, etc. Any other info is appreciated as well!

The rooms are very nice. Im not sure if they have ac but the locstion should be breezy. Such a chill spot! I think meals are included or available. In my experience the food takes a while there but hope if ypu were a guest it would be different. Did ypu find a phone number? In the past it's been hard to contact them directly. What's the rate now? Is ypur AI in Negril? PEACE!

Excursions: private vs tour company. (8 Replies)
I'm trying to pre-plan a few excursions during our 10 day stay at SATP at the end of Jan. On other vacations we've always simply booked with a tour company that is usually set up at the hotel....but last year we found that one of our more expensive excursions wasn't as enjoyable. There were some in the group that were rowdy/obnoxious and some very slow moving folks who we had to wait for so they wouldn't get left behind. So this year I thought maybe we would bypass the group tours and...More

"I realize for something like horseback riding we will need to book with a company." Not true. Try Rhodes Hall which is about 5 miles north and east of Sunset at the Palms. You will pass it on the way from the airport to Negril. Call them in advance to book a ride and then just take a taxi there. "to go to Ricks and watch the sunset and the divers, do we just ask a taxi to take us?" That works fine. "Luminous lagoon? Same thing? Will a water taxi take us and where do we find them? Just...More

Day trip to Mayfield, Blue Hole and Rick's cafe...possible? (3 Replies)
Hello, We are staying 4 nights in MoBay in July and my husband is allowing us just 1 day trip off of resort for our stay😒 ... We're planning to just hire a driver for the day, and I was wondering if it's reasonably possible to squeeze Mayfield Falls, Blue hole mineral spring and Negril Cliffs/Rick's Cafe into 1 day?? I'm willing to devote the whole day but just curious if our driver may find us crazy for even asking...lol. Just looking at maps and reading previous threads it seems as...More

Sure. Leave MoBay mid-morning for Mayfield allowing at least 2 hours there then to Blue Hole Mineral Spring (an hour is good for that IMO) then end at Rick's for sunset? I'd add dinner at Ivans or LTU or something too. And/or eat at Mayfield or Blue Hole.
