We had been to Pinel island about 10 years ago and were quite saddened by the change. It is now very commercial very crowded and very disappointing. There are many more beautiful beaches and places to snorkel then Pinel island. Whereas before it was beautiful and very naturalistic, now there's not much except for iguanas to see. The beach is... We were indifferent about this visit, neither impressed or disappointed, we hiked around the island, very hot, great views but not much else. The 2 beaches charge 10.00 per person for a beach chair, didn't try the restaurants on the island. It's ok for a visit but don't know if it would fill a day.

A really great beach with still water and great beach access by boat or kayak. The restuarant is terrific as well.

This is a great place to visit for the day. Short boat ride, round trip $12. Calm waters, gift shop, and good food. We took a cooler with water, and soda and a few snacks. Did some snorkeling, and just hung out. Wonderful day!

We had not heard about this until we met some people while vacationing. They told us about it and we all went together. It was the best day! You pay $12.00 US per person to ride in a boat over to the island and you can return back to St Maarten whenever you are ready. The last boat leaves Pinel... More

So many lovely islands and then there is Pinel Island. Small and very crowded with one little beach (and its nice) and a very expensive restaurant and a even more expensive gift shop with nothing original. So what's the attraction? Its was a waste of time to go there with so many other wonderful attractions in St. Martins.

It is a beautiful little island but don't expect to get anything to eat before noon, there is two small beach bar settings to grab food when they are open. The beach setting fills up fast and becomes quite busy.

We discovered Pinel Island last year and love it! It's a quick boat ride from Cul de Sac over to the island. Two restaurants/bars, a gift shop, chairs & umbrellas for rent. Great for swimming because there is little wind and calm water. Great day trip!

Take the little boat, or better yet, kayak over to Pinel Island and spend a day. You will pay for chairs and an umbrella, but its worth it. We took the hike around the island up to the peaks overlooking the cliffs -- it was about an hour hike / walk but well worth it. We enjoyed a lunch at... More
