We love to go there because the tourist from the ships DON"T!!!! Its just a small area not alot of parking but a great spot to go. Snorkeling is on and off due to the currents but its still fun. Two beach bars with chair rental Kali's and Friar's Bay Cafe. Both cash only

Friar's Bay is a nice beach with plenty of parking and a gentle surf. There are several restaurants where one can get a chaise and some shade and meals are served right on the beach. Friar's bay is less crowded that many other beaches. The road from the main road is rutted and you need to take it slow but... More

We stopped here before heading to Happy Bay, I wouldn't stay a day, just another beach with no special appeal to it. When you have so many to pick from...

We went as a family in April. It was a fantastic beach - and the boys made the hike to a mostly empty Happy Bay! It's a nice quiet beach - with nice waves. The restaurant was a disappointment - with horrible service - but the beach was a treat. Give it a try!

We go to visit Friars Bay Beach Cafe. The crowds are not bad and the water is terrific. Go for the food, stay for the beach!

This one is a bit crowded, but the setting and sand are amazing. The waves are perfect for kids, and it's easy to get to.

Friars Bay was our first stop on our self guided island beach tour. It was picture perfect with white sand, and calm blue water. It was empty and after a swim and a drink at Roots, we had to tear ourselves away to get to the next beach. We will come back and enjoy a full day here next time.

great beach, quit and easy going, relaxing place to sit, read , and swim, great restaurant on the beach is a big plus and parking within 20 feet of beach makes it very easy to get on the beach without long walks, busier on weekends as it is usually family days, lot of local people but still better than big... Very nice beach to take a day trip. Can relax and enjoy location and friendly atmosphere. One of our favorite beaches on the island.

On the French side between Marigot and Grand Case. Look for the sign on the left, heading north, for Friar's Bay and follow the black top. Watch out for cows walking the road side. There are longers and umbrellas for rent-$18 for 2 chairs and one umbrella. We asked to rent a second umbrella later in the day and "Dupree"... More
