We were 3 couples spending a week on St. Martin, driving & visiting many of the beaches. Friar's Bay was one of our favorites, although hard to find on Tuesday 7/12. We almost missed the small sign with the beach's name on it, & then the uneven, twisting road raised some doubts on whether we were headed the right way.... More

Friar Bay's is one of my favorite beaches on the island. There are no rocks in the water. It is not that shallow as you go out. It does get crowded especially on weekends but overall it is definitely worth the visit. The water is clear, sand in the water, parking, and beach bar.

If you enjoy the beach this is the place. The water here is crystal clear. You can take a short hike to Happy bay from here which is beautiful. Nice beach bar so spend the day, you can rent chairs and umbrellas....do it. The water is calm and the people are all friendly.

This is a very secluded beach with super calm and turquois waters. Two little restaurants (the one towards the end of the beach is a little more upscale but not a tad better just more expensive). They even bring your drinks into the water. Almost the best day on the island.

We visited today but didn't stay. Difficult to find the way. The road is rutted and rocky and takes you by a foul smelling stagnant marsh (wetland preserve). Once at the beach we just weren't impressed based on comparisons with other beaches we have visited like Mullet and Anse Marcel. The sand is a little rocky and it was crowded.... More

Access it from the south. Avoid the dirt road going straight in. The bay is gorgeous xv looking straight at Anguilla. Water is calm on this side of the island. There is a wonderful first class restaurant right there. Lots of locals coming by boat. You may want to try the hike up to happy bay. It's only about five... More

This is what locals call a "country" beach because on weekends, its where the local islands head to to picnic and chill. Its not as perfect as the beaches in Anguilla with lots of hard stones at the entry way into the water and in the water itself but its quite relaxing and friendly locals even share their wine with... The drive to find Friar's Beach had us wondering if we were safe... Upon renting the car the agent said to "stay out of the places that look like you shouldn't be there." That is pretty much everything on our drive to this location. I was even unsure of leaving our vehicle - we were parked in a dirt lot... More

We had a local recommend this beach. The sand was soft and the water clear and calm. Rented chairs. Snorkeled a little. Enjoyed this beach the most
