Quaint marina with shops and restaurants

A walk through the market then off to the Marina Royal. A marina with a lot of charm. Boutiques (Boutique ananas was our favourite) and restaurants line the docks. Some... read more

We ate lunch, walked around shops and enjoyed some people watching. It was a nice afternoon break from the beaches.

We visited this area on a Thursday night during carnival. What a fun evening. The had a parade of children and later with adults accompanied by a tambour band. Fun! We ate dinner at Les Spinnaker. A great evening.

A walk through the market then off to the Marina Royal. A marina with a lot of charm. Boutiques (Boutique ananas was our favourite) and restaurants line the docks. Some restaurants have tables on the docks (Le Tropicana had reasonable rates for French fare) Very pleasant walk through for us!

Second stop on a caribbean cruise. Took water taxi from the cruise ship to the town beach, next to the shopping area. Beach was beautiful, did get a bit of hassle form locals trying to sell everything from Aloe Vera, massages, dresses etc etc but no one was rude, just laid back. Had a foot massage in the end and... By water or land, the marina is a nice place to spend some time. The visual landscape is pleasant, and it's also fun to see the different yachts that are docked in the marina.

The Marina Port La Royale is the main area in downtown Marigot, French Saint Martin, where lots of yachts are docked. It has also six to eight restaurants/bars, one art gallery and a dozen shops. It still has its charm. When visiting Saint Martin this year, we realised that the area is a bit run down, requiring renovation and being... More

We've been here several times and always have a great time. Our teen daughter had a friend traveling with us and both girls enjoyed the shopping, beach and water taxi ride. The water was as gorgeous as ever and the scenery didn't disappoint...it never does. We look forward to returning here again soon!
