Quiet beach with a nice reef, but rough water.

We took a taxi here from our cruise ship because I had read that the snorkeling was good. The snorkeling was good, but the water was very rough. We did see nice coral and fish... read more

It was a beautiful beach and a good place to see sunrise, but most area of the beach were in the Westin Dawn Beach Resort. When we were there, waves were too strong to swim or even play in the water. I believe there are so many better beaches in St Maarten.

My wife and I have visited at least 10 of the 36 beaches on St Martin and this one will go down as my least favorite. You have to park at the Westin Hotel. The good part of this is that it is covered parking but you then have to cross through the hotel to get to the beach. There... More

This is a beautiful beach with aquamarine coloured waters and views of the French side as well as St. Bart's and the sunrise at 5:40am. This is a perfect place for my wife and I, as we prefer the less crowded area. It has had some serious strong waves but that could be the time of year. As far as... More

We took a taxi here from our cruise ship because I had read that the snorkeling was good. The snorkeling was good, but the water was very rough. We did see nice coral and fish, and even two stingrays. But, we are very good swimmers and we went out much farther than most would. The reef close to shore was... More

This is a quite beach in front of the Westin Hotel. This is the Atlantic side of the ocean so the water is cooler, seas are rough but the beach itself is nice. No water sports provided in this area.

We stopped here on our self guided beach crawl around the island. It was pretty rough surf here so we didn't venture in. The beach was pretty crowded and a little windy.

Back at our time share resort at Oyster Bay and this beach is very close. Walk on the beach and there is no weeds like in the past where the bulldozer would clean it up and two hours later the weeds would be back. Only small amount would roll up the warm waters and make their way. But plenty of... More

We visited for the day from a cruise ship. Asked for a cab to Busbys restaurant which was $15 each way. The restaurant had $1 beer and clean bathrooms. It was $12 per chair on the beach with no charge for an umbrella. The day we were there it was pretty windy, overcast and almost cool. Not enough to blow... More

The beach is open to the public through the Westin, where you can park. You cannot use any ammenities from the Westin but the beach is open. Clear water but waves are kinda rough.

The Dawn Beach Club is right next to the Westin Dawn Beach Hotel. You have full access to all their amenities pool casino restaurants etc They all are huge 3 bedroom condo units most with drop dead ocean views Ample free parking Perfect for family reunions or groups of 6 or so adults. Peace and quiet and privacy Highly recommended.
