We had such a great experience with Bakkahestar. I took my daughters, 17 and 5, on a ride. The owners were great with us. They were especially great with my 5 year old who had not ridden a horse before. They kept her and the horse on a leash and rode side by side. She was safe the entire time. The horses were gentle and obedient. The owners were delightful to talk with. This was a fantastic family owned farm. Appreciative to Bakkahestar for this memorable experience of riding horses with my girls on a beach on the south coast of Iceland.

The highlight of our trip to Iceland! Jessica and her husband were incredible instructors and guides. Having had a bad experience with horse riding prior to this trip, I was nervous, but Jessica was reassuring and very patient. There are not enough stars to rate this outfit! Amazing experience!!!

Jessica was so approachable during the booking process and happy to fit in with our other plans. It was very windy and rainy on the day we had booked and Jessica gave us the opportunity to rearrange but due to other plans we decided to go ahead and both Jessica and her husband couldn't have been more willing and happy to still take us out. Despite the weather the ride was so much fun and as it was only me and my daughter we had some lovely long periods of tolt. The horses were so cute and clearly well cared for. on our return we were offered a warming cup of coffee while we waited to be collected. A lovely experience, despite the harsh weather.

Very friendly couple and well kept stable. Icelandic horses are calm and approachable. Our nine year old daughter had a great time riding here. PS check out the chocolate labradors too, they are adorable.

I had an amazing experience horseback riding with Jessica! Her expertise and passion for horses made the adventure unforgettable. The scenic trail on the beach, well-trained horses and Jessica's guidance created a perfect outing. Glad we got to see some seals in the water while watching the sunrise. I highly recommend it to anyone.

We had a wonderful Iceland horse experience with Jessica and her husband at Bakkahestar. The horses are in great shape and our son (6y) had a lot of fun riding the horse on the leash with Jessica. We can highly recommend to book a ride with them at Bakkahestar.

My daughter and I went for an hour’s ride with the lovely Jessica and her husband who own the horses and riding school. My daughter had ridden before but I didn’t have any experience and was very nervous. We were looked after very well and Jessica rode at the front and her husband rode at the back to keep the group together. I’m not a big horse fan but even I could appreciate how gorgeous they were and my horse, 25 year old Glamour, was the perfect plodder for me. Definitely worth and visit.

What an experience. Jessica and her husband were so welcoming and made us feel like friends! This was my first time on a horse...they helped me feel at ease and were really encouraging. I loved it by the end!! The trip was scenic and fun, they would answer any of our questions on the way round and told us lots about the things we could see. I definitely recommend

Friendly guides, who guide you well. They explain everything well and put you at ease if it is your first time riding. Pleasant and beautiful horses! A nice tour along the beach. Very nice experience!

Fantastic horse back riding experience with Jessica and Eva. It is definitely the highlight of our trip. My husband, myself and our two twenty something children all loved it. Jessica and Eva are super positive, had us all tolting within minutes. The horses are so sweet, and there were kittens which my daughter loved. Great ride on the beach. Highly recommend for beginners to advanced riders.
