This quaint little town is beautiful with a great range of bars, restaurants and shops. So glad this place was only a short walk away from our campsite.

Wonderful little bars and restaurants where you can sit and watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean

Porto Covo is beautiful! Go to the market and buy fish to grill, stroll the streets, visit the miraduro and the Praia dos Buizinhos.
We have found a beach bar/restaurant north of Porto Covo: "Magic Cactus". Beautiful beach, excellent food!!

Disappointing. The coast and beaches are stunning, but the town... 😬
This is what happens when property developers “discover” what used to be a charming fishing village. You can still imagine what it used to be like in the old days by strolling through the few small center streets with the original low slung houses.
But the beachfront is full of identical copy-paste McMansions, complete with fenced off private access paths, and the same type of constructions have also surrounded the old center like cancerous growth. And since the original Village is so tiny, it's the McMansions that dominante the atmosphere. A pity.

We found Porto Cova disappointing. Beautiful rugged shoreline but the town lacked atmosphere. Great shame as it's being spoilt by all the buildings and development that's going on.

A small and well kept historic center with a few bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. Worth a visit if you're closeby.

Porto Covo continues to be the friendly village of fishermen, of small white houses, which was recovered by the Marquis de Pombal after the earthquake of 1755.
It is worth a visit for the beautiful steep and hidden beaches that lie along the coast.
About 250 meters off Porto Covo, you can see the abandoned Pessegueiro Island, a source of inspiration for the most poetic.

We discovered a nice little place here where you can spend more than one day. We didn't see any architectural eyesores and the central square leads into a small pedestrian zone.
From here we went on several short hikes along the coast.

Nice and quiet. I hope they know how to preserve the charm.
It's not my first summer here, and I notice that it is growing very quickly. I hope they don't ruin it.
