About Miguel's Diving Gorontalo
As Gorontalo's pioneer dive center, Miguel's Diving has offered scuba diving to certified divers since 2003. It is the only dive operator in Gorontalo that owns its own dock, speed boats, and has PADI-trained dive masters. Over the years, Miguel's Diving has discovered over 30 dive sites. These include pristine coral walls, multiple pinnacles, submerged points, underwater caverns, historical wrecks, and even muck. With its experienced local crew and Western management, everyone from beginning divers to professional underwater photographers can enjoy the hidden paradise of Gorontalo. Active in local conservation efforts, dive center staff perform regular reef cleaning, education campaigns in villages, and spearhead Olele Village Marine Reserve. Miguel's Diving follows COVID-19 health protocols recommended by PADI and DAN.

Big thanks to Miguel’s Diving Gorontalo for making my dream comes true, yes Diving with the Whaleshark, the biggest fish in the world. Was really great experience to have diving with Miguel’s Diving Team, very high standards of the service, excellent Divemaster on their team, great food , very educative and communicative team, the organization from beginning to the end of the trip was really good! They will show you the real hidden paradise of gorontalo, pristine water, super healthy coral reefs, and abundance of marine life there, highly recommend to dive with Miguel’s Diving Gorontalo for having best diving experience there.

Amazing experience with Miguel's diving team. Rantje was a perfect host and guide, he took us to the most beautiful dive sites, coral is breathtaking, I didn't know Indonesia was hiding so beautiful gemes! Everything was perfect from reception at the airport, organisation, food and hotel. Thank you! Didn't imagine I would be able to do that from Bali. Even during pandemic felt very secure with their hygiene protocol. All team is very serious about everything. Highly recommended!

My husband has taken me diving in Gorontalo with #gtomiguelsdiving for many years, and this year was no exception. We made the trip in mid-February 2021 and it was awesome. My videos in Gorontalo waters have been instagrammable, such as that of a colony of foxtail tunicates, of a nudibranch of startling white, and of the Salvador Dali sponge coral unique to the area. Rantje, owner-operator of Miguel's Diving Gorontalo, has made sure that our underwater excursions are memorable in every way. This year we have been blessed with a ringside view of huge whale sharks at Tomini Bay just off Desa Botubarani. These gentle giants filter-feed on plankton as well as shrimp shells from a shrimp factory located nearby. It was an unforgettable encounter. Nani Murtaqi

The Miguel's team, capably manage by Rantje, made our 5 days of diving easy, fun, and educational. How Poka and Maman, two of the guides, spot the macro life is nothing short of astounding, and Undeng and Yunis must have x-ray vision to so clearly see life under the sand! A professional job carried out very well, having the additional benefit of attention to cleaning the reef from smothering plastics and discarded clothing. One thing, though, is to moderate your expectations. The whale sharks may be the primary draw for most divers to commit to coming to Gorontalo, but they follow their own schedule - they didn't show up in the week we were there. The diving is almost all wall with some caverns, with the exception of a very interesting muck location (cephalopods!), and the reef is healthy - not teeming with piscine life, however, and the fish are unaccustomed to divers, scatter and hide when seeing a big animal (us) lurking nearby. Lots of great macro, especially nudibranchs, to make up for this, as well as the rather iconic (given that it's Indonesia) orangutan crab - together with the endemic Salvador Dali sponge. Rantje tells the story of when a pod of orca showed up to investigate the group of divers...
