About Miguel's Diving Gorontalo
As Gorontalo's pioneer dive center, Miguel's Diving has offered scuba diving to certified divers since 2003. It is the only dive operator in Gorontalo that owns its own dock, speed boats, and has PADI-trained dive masters. Over the years, Miguel's Diving has discovered over 30 dive sites. These include pristine coral walls, multiple pinnacles, submerged points, underwater caverns, historical wrecks, and even muck. With its experienced local crew and Western management, everyone from beginning divers to professional underwater photographers can enjoy the hidden paradise of Gorontalo. Active in local conservation efforts, dive center staff perform regular reef cleaning, education campaigns in villages, and spearhead Olele Village Marine Reserve. Miguel's Diving follows COVID-19 health protocols recommended by PADI and DAN.

I have been meaning to get to Gorontalo for a while and it did not disappoint at all! I was picked up each day from the hotel and dropped back off. The dive sites are not too far from the shop so a 3 dive day is great, leaving time in the afternoon to rest or explore. The diving exceeded my expectations as each dive and each day brought wonderful new sights. Most of the diving I did was wall diving but we did do some slopes, a little muck and a wreck dive to add a bit of variety in. The walls are dramatic, to say the least, and most of them have a huge abundance of healthy and vibrant coral species. The topography on the walls is incredible - with crevices, overhangs, caverns, channels carved into the wall, outcrops to marvel at. What was most surprising to me is that each wall differs from the others so the wall diving didn't ever feel repetivite. The muck diving (2 day dives and 1 night dive) was a good change of pace. Although the variety isn't what you'd expect at Lembeh, there was still plenty to look at. Across the 3 muck dives I saw critters such as a mimic octopus, a beautiful lemon yellow frogfish, a bobbit worm, an ambon scoprionfish, nudibranchs and crabs. Rantje and I were even chased by a lionfish on the last dive! The crew are great and Rantje runs a very smooth operation. The crew looked after me and my gear well during the stay, helping me to kit up and get in the water. The DMs know the sites well, avoid strong current and navigate back to the boat at the end of each dive. They actively look for critters and are keen to point out things of interest, writing on a slate as needed. They gave me plenty of time to take photos and video footage too. The food was delicious and my requests for non-spicy and vegetarian foods were met well; the tuna was particularly delicious. The fruit on surface intervals was always delicious and the pineapple is noteworthy as it's so fresh and perfectly ripe! I highly recommend diving with Miguel's if you're coming to Gorontalo. I hope to return next season!

I was as shocked as you were to be stalked by that territorial lionfish! Thankfully, you were my dive buddy and I heard your warning scream. Otherwise, it would have nailed me. I have never been chased away from a coral bommie before. Maybe the lionfish thought we intended to slurp shrimps not just search for them. As to the pineapple, that is a special secret we keep. Not only do we know the dive sites well, we also know the best place to buy local fruit. Safe journeys until your next dive trip here!

I was referred to Miguel's Diving by a friend from Jakarta diving group. Both my husband and I were very happy with the plan and the service provided by Mr. Rantje and his crew. His crew are very well-trained and good at finding little creatures in the ocean. I liked all the diving sites we were guided to. Gorgeous corals. I especially like the cliffs covered with large corals. Simply stunning. I was impressed by the way they wash our diving gears after our last diving. They sanitize regulators, wash inside and outside of BCD, and wash our wet suits and boots nicely with special detergent. They delivered the items the next day to our hotel before our departure. Since our gears were washed and dried to a good extent, our job back home was just easy. I found Mr. Rantje is loved by his crew and the locals. I hope to go back there whenever possible.

Beautiful dive sites, no doubt about that. What impresses me more is the care that Pak Rantje and his crew show during my time, from airport transfer and accomodation arrangement, sanitising my diving gear, pointing out and helping out photographing interesting marine lifes, keeping the whole dives safe , and especially maintaining health protocol all the time. Thank you pak Rantje, pak Boka, pak Uban, pak Maman, pak Undeng, pak Yunis and pak Syahrir. Looking forwards to next trip with you guys!

I dived with Miguel’s Diving in Decembre 2021 and everything was absolutely perfect even thought I organized the trip last minute. The dive center is ideally located, close to breathtaking dive sites. Rantje and the staff are absolute professionals, experts of the area and very careful of their impact on the environment. The equipment couldn’t be better, in perfect condition and sanitized after each dive. I wish I could dive more and I hope I can come back soon ! On top of that perfect dive experience, Rantje organized my stay in Gorontalo: he was very flexible, reactive and chose the best accommodation according to my budget and expectations. I recommend 100% !!
