About
The unique museum mapping the Czech records and curiosities was opened on 30 June 1994 at 10 a.m. All the giant exhibits, miniatures, weird things and masterpieces are a proof, that records are a domain of active entertainment, which is fun not only for the authors, but for the audiences as well. The biggest, smallest, longest, heaviest, fastest, the most strenuous… these are the adjective you meet everywhere at the Lower Gate of the Pelhřimov square and at the “Golden Czech Hands” Exposition.

More Boring than exciting

Not very interesting. And ticket price is very expensive if you consider what you got. (Same like UNESCO heritage Litomysl castle).

The biggest, smallest, fastest...

The Museum of Records and Curiosities is a very unusual museum, because they don't show things from past times there, but things new, strange, unusual, quaint; simply the biggest, smallest, fastest...

The exhibition is situated in two houses. I think more known is the Jihlavská Tower. The second part is in the house called "The Golden Hands" (Zlaté ručičky) and you can find it just around the corner from the tower. You can see there not only marzipan wedding dress or stone violin, but there are in the garden big size objects like huge dishes or mammoth.

The guys who run this museum are very friendly. Maybe because it was cold day when I visited this place, one of them made for me hot tea. It was really nice.

If you want to see "different museum", it is exactly place for you. The entrance fee is 150,- CZK and apply for both buildings.
