What a gem of a place. Park at the bottom and walk up or take the narrow steep single track road and drive up and park, either way it's all good fun.
The Mont is lovely, a perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon with the family and to have a picnic.
The views are stunning, you can see all the way to Mont St Michel and Cancale.
It's a safe place to allow your children to run wild and free for a little time and there is a play area plus the Tower and the Windmill. All places to allow your imagination and your child's imagination to wonder freely.

We stayed in Mont-Dol for a couple of days and discovered a very nice path up the hill leading to an old wind mill and a chapel with an impressive view point. It’s worth taking the pedestrian path with the warning sign which says that it’s steep. It’s not that steep so no stress

So, there is a steep walk but it's only for 3 or 4 minutes. When you get to the top there is a beautiful area with trees and grassland ( oh, and a car park - so if you are driving then you can negotiate the road in a car instead). You can climb the tower to get the magnificant panoramic views, a small chapel, a windmill with a tour / explanation ( though it may have all been in French)', an artiste studio and exhibition, and a bar serving snacks and drinks. There is also a play area for children, and a fenced area with a pond. If you took a picnic it would be a great place to spend a bit of time, and cheaply, as there is no entry fee you can just go and enjoy the park land. When you descend the hill there are a couple more places to eat, or a little shop / bar selling magazines and snacks too. We cycled from Cancale which was a nice route and easily done.

This is a wonderful start to any morning. Park at the base of the mont and hike your way to the top, where the view, assuming the fog hasn't settled in as it had on the day we visited, is reputed to be grand. Even fogged in, this is a very pretty place to visit.

Had some time before we needed to get where we were going so stopped to ascend to the top of this quaint village. Wonderful views from the lookout point. Can also climb a tower on the site. I couldn't believe how clearly you can see the top of Mt. St. Michel in the distance. Exciting.

A beautiful place. We parked in the free car park at the top of a quite a steep hill. There is a cafe/restaurant to get drinks and food, a pond, the hill to climb and look out at a fantastic view including seeing Mont-Saint-Michel on the horizon and some of the old windmills that sat along the coastline, a tower to look out from, a small chapel where you have the choice to light a small candle, an old windmill, space to walk your dog, toilets, and benches to sit on and admire the views. We spent around an hour here but would be a lovely picnic spot and somewhere to play a few outside games or sit and read a book.

We parked near the cemetery at the foot of the hill in the large free car park but you can drive up and hope there is space in the small car at the top. The walk up is short but steep. Great place for a picnic but we ate in the crepery on the top which was good. Apart from the crepery there is a small kids playground, a windmill which is worth a quick visit (free), a tiny chapel and a monument (free) which has a spiral staircase to the top where the view are impressive. There is also a public loo which you can smell from 20m away.

Free parking at base of the hill allows a short walk to the tower, the mill, which has a small restaurant, further parking and a pond. Seems a popular place to picnic. We saw lizards and a grass snake. There is also a restaurant at the bottom of the hill which is cheaper. Lovely views of the flat surrounding area. If no mist you can see the beaches nearby and the Mont st Michel

While driving past we saw this rock standing tall in an area that was really flat. On investigation we found a lovely little village with a climb up to a chapel. We were lazy and drove up to the top where there is a free car park and loos. The beauty of it all is the fabulous all round views of the French countryside and the sea beyond.
