We had taken a trip by raft a couple of days earlier from Cesky Kumlov but this was a superior trip.

This time my husband and I rented a canoe and our 16 year old son rented a kayak (complete with helmet and buoyancy aid).

We had decided on the 5 hour trip to Nahorany. There are shorter and longer trips available.

There were three weirs to negotiate, having managed 5 weirs previously I wasn't concerned but the first weir was a bit of a surprise! We had been told that we could take the boats down all the weirs but the first weir was a sheer drop of around 3 feet. I think this would have been fine in a raft but not in a canoe.

There are plenty of places to stop off en route for beer (the obligatory Czech drink) and snacks. We stopped on the outskirts of Rozmberk nad Vltavou, with its beautiful castle on the hill and relaxed at a snack bar at the side of the river.

After Rozmberk there are no more weirs and you can enjoy travelling through the forests to Nahorany. The trip took around 5 hours including an hour for lunch.

On arrival at Camp U Fika at Nahorany you are greeted by very helpful staff, helping you with the boats and indicating where the bus will pick you up to take you back to Vyssi Brod.

We were part of a twenty travelers tour from Prague.

On the way to Cesky Krumlov, our tour guide told us a lot about the Czech history. We made a few stops along the way.

The city of Cesky Krumlov is a gem definitvely worth the visit.

We have done a 3-day tour with my son aged 8 and it was a real blast. We are glad to have chosen Inge Tour as they are nice, efficient and more than helpful. We left the car in Vyssi Brod and went to Cesky Krumlov with two overnight stops in Ruzomberk and Nahorzany at Inge campsites. To facilitate your trip the company provides a boat, life jackets and paddles and a waterproof barrel in case you want to bring your stuff along. They also offer to take your luggage to the next campsite so you can enjoy the river without the hassle of hauling your bags. By the time you get there your tent and other stuff is there. Free wifi in Vyssi Brod and Ruzomberk but none in the other campsites which is a pity. Make sure you pick a good spot for the tents as the first two camps can be rather noisy as a result of large groups partying. The staff is very helpful everywhere and they make sure you are well served. We had an excellent time during these three days. If you plan a day trip I recommend Camp u Fika to the end of Krumlov as the campsite is nice and big and that section provides plenty of fun and loads of opportunities for a stop. The only downside I can mention is the bus ride back which is more like the Medina bus in Casablanca: more than double the passengers than the bus capacity but at least the trip is short. I can only recommend Inge Tour to anyone looking to take a raft/canoe trip in the area. We will definitely return there.

The inflatable boat exploded like a ballon two hours into the journey while it was docked at the river side. They made us pay for the damage because they said the internal pressure was too high. The boat was pumped up by them but they refused to admit the fault on their side. The boat was really old and it had patches everywhere. Feels like a scam.

Blistering hot day. Perfect for it. River cool n clean so lots of swimming breaks. Shallow enough to stand in many places. Great scenery to float through. Plenty of rest stops = bar & grub.
Inge tours made it a very easy trip. All in English/German/Czech.
Collected at day's end, despite three hours behind schedule. Thanks for a great experience.
Cesky Krumlov to Zlata Koruna.

I did a 3 day (2 nights) canoe trip on the Moldau river with my girlfriend. They provided us with the boat, life jackets, oars and waterproof barrels and bags. Also gave us some brief instructions. All for a fair price (cheap if you come from west europe). The accept euros and speak (mostly) English and/or German.
The same company owns some campings, which we used on the way. They don't make special price for boat customers (very cheap anyway). Campings are nice overall, apart from being very noisy at night (due to other campers which are allowed to make noise...)
After the third day, the pick us up as programmed and took us back to the start spot. Everything worked fine and staff was nice.
