This dive center is attached to Tomia Villa run by Dr Yudi. He fell in love with diving and decided to switch professions. Locally he is regarded as the best trainer and divemaster. They have an excellent crew as well as the only boat that can fill the tanks while on the boat to maximize your dive time. We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed some of the best coral and small fish we've ever seen.

Tomia Scuba Dive is a local and family-style dive shop in Waha village on Tomia Island, 5 to 10mn boat from the best dive spots there. The building is well maintained with nice and confy double rooms, hot shower (!!!) and breathtaking seaview and sunsets. Dr. Yudi and his crew are very helpful and friendly, here it’s another way of diving, never rushed. It’s very remote, indeed, so you won’t be disturbed by the crowd of tourists ! The boat is big, with plenty of space to prepare cool dives. No need to pay a very expensive price to stay at the Wakatobi Dive Resort, Tomia Scuba Dive is totally worth it, and you will dive in the exact same reef. The underwaterworld is amazing, for macro lovers to big stuffs like sharks, turtles or huge schools of jacks, and the coral is incredibly healthy and various. The schedule includes 2 morning dives, lunch on the boat, afternoon dive and optional night dives. The night dives were one of the highlights of our stay, full of beautiful and spooky critters ! We stayed 8 full days, and this area deserves definitely 3 dives a day to dive the various reefs. How to make it to Tomia ? Currently, the only company to fly to Wakatobi is Wings Air, once a day, from Kendari. Because of the tides, the schedule of the plane and the speed boat to Tomia don’t match, so you have to overnight in Wanci (Wangi-Wangi Island). Then take the speed boat to Waha Village on Tomia in the morning. The crossing is about 2h/2h30, depending on the sea. The dive shop is 100m from the jetty. It’s worth to stay at least a week to discover also a little bit the island, e.g. making a walk from beach to beach during low tide.

Strongly recommended for diving at Tomia island. Dr. Yudi (owner) & his staff are local people. Experienced dive leaders have a good eyes for searching macro subjects. Rooms are nice & cleaned. Food is so delicious. We have big fish almost every dinner.

The dive operations is well run by Dr Yudi. He has its own facilities including dive boat, Oxygen kit, and equipments which are well maintained. Definitely will recommend to divers. I dived with him in Oct 2013, and recently was in Tomia on Dec 2018.

Me and our team are going to Tomia island on December, our friends suggest us to go to Tomia Dive Center for stay and dive. The place are very nice with a new building, the room have everything that we need (big space for our gear, hot/cold water, A/C, etc). And for our dive experience with Tomia Scuba Dive are very good, Doctor Yudi are very good on handling us, he also shared with us the photos/videos while we’re diving. We’ll be coming back again soon to Tomia Dive Center.
