Interesting

Hatvan is a beautiful old town and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the town as well as the museum.
Amazing to see how they lived hundreds of years ago.

Cool space and interesting exhibit
Apr 2017 • Family
Cool space and interesting exhibit. The castle was redone in a very tasteful way. We wouldn't go out of our way to see this if we were staying in BP, but if you are in the surrounding region and need an indoor activity then this will fit the bill for 1.5 hours.

What a surprise

This hunting museum was a shocking experience for me. It is just superb.
Located in the Grassalkovich Mansion in the centre of Hatvan, this museum offers a fantastic insight of the elite's hobby, namely hunting.
A MUST, once you are in Hatvan! :-)

Excellent and unique hunting museum
May 2016 • Solo
Located in the Grassalkovich mansion at the main square of Hatvan, this museum has excellent accessibility by both car (paying parking spaces around the main square) as well as by public transportation (regional and long-distance coach stop in front of the museum, railway station at ca. 15 minutes walking time).

The museum houses an interactive collection on the major species of trees and animals of Hungary (the first floor) and on fishing (basement). On the second floor you can find an unique collection of trophies as well as on the tradition of hunting in Hungary. There you can also find a memorial room dedicated to count Zsigmond Széchenyi (1898-1967), the famous Hungarian hunter who hunted in Africa, Alaska, India and Europe. He was also a gifted writer.

This is a must-see for all hunting enthousiasts and for those who like nature.
