We were taking a trip into our ancestral past and one of my Burgenland gggrandmothers was from this parish. This church is incredibly different from the other smaller churches in the surrounding towns where the majority of my paternal family originated. The interior is overwhelmingly beautiful, with exquisite detail everywhere you look. Just to sit in a pew and FEEL the awesome beauty was a powerful experience! Clearly the population was devoted to Our Lady and willing to spare no expense to honor her. For art historians, artists, architects, history buffs, etc., this is a MUST visit basilca, and one of a kind in rural Burgenland wine country.…

For such a small town this is an impressive church with monastic cloisters. A really pleasant surprise in an area without uch like this to offer.

This church seems to be huge for the size of the town but, once inside, it is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have ever been to. Well worth a look.
