We made this visit without being planned and what a pleasant experience it was. An extraordinary journey in time, a very interesting spoil for those who are or are not admirers of trains. Very well preserved old specimens, very large and well structured space, very friendly and friendly staff. Average of 3/4h to see everything carefully, we made a free visit with the help of the map that they gave us at the entrance. We highly recommend it, it is a museum that deserves much more emphasis within the national museums.

A pleasant surprise. The history of the railroad in Portugal and in the world very well presented and appreciated. A word of appreciation for our guide (yes, do not dispens the guided visit very enlightening and rich in details) Mr. João Paulo who without having to say it demonstrated a true passion for railway heritage. The museum is right next to the Entroncamento station so the experience can be even better going by train! The ticket gives discount on access to the museum.

Very nice space, both outside and inside where in their care and interesting pavilions, we get to know a lot more about trains and railways The assistants are very friendly people and knowledgeable in the subject always ready to explain and to ask questions... In the restored and furnished restaurant wagons, equipped with microwaves, we can enjoy our snack ☰ With the ticket on that day we can enter and exit the times we want. It exceeded expectations. I will return with family and friends 👍

Certainly one of the museums in Portugal to visit! The exhibition is quite complete and tells us the entire railway history in detail. There are so many objects, images, locomotives and carriages to visit, that by the time we finished the visit, 3 hours had already passed (!). For those bringing lunch, there is a meal carriage with a microwave available. The staff was amazing with us, always giving us guidance and information about the exhibition throughout the visit. We didn't, but in the end we realized that the guided tour is definitely mandatory. The only recommendation I have to make is perhaps to explore more senses other than vision... I missed some "background noises", especially in the end area of the carriages, to give more immersion to the visitor. Whistles giving orders to depart, trains arriving, announcements about departures/arrivals, or even just the buzz of people talking while waiting for the train. Other than that, our experience was fantastic!

Very interesting visit, unfortunately we were already close to closing time and made the visit run. Employees of extraordinary sympathy always ready to explain everything in detail but in a passionate way. I advise to make the visit in time and take snack to eat on the train restaurant. I hope that on my next visit the restaurant train is working as a bar / restaurant because it was much more fun than just being visible with the possibility of taking something to consume inside. Excellent museum with super interesting pieces that includes i real train and the first steam machine that worked in Portugal. The reception master was spectacular explaining everything we were going to see. The museum has a space where you can take food and heat in the microwave and you can leave and reenter if necessary.

As we took a walk before arriving our bus and following our route to Porto we decided to see this beautiful and striking Railway Museum. This shows its history and evolution. Something you can't miss. I must also highlight the excellent service of the person in charge of the museum. They have an excellent vocation of service.

I was part of the Clube Roadster MX-5 PT visit and we did the guided tour with João. It was 5 stars. The museum is quite round and complete and our Guide explained everything with great enthusiasm. When I left, I even felt like buying a train! Also in this museum you will find the real train and chariot that is super beautiful. One of the best museums in Portugal.

The museum is large and the staff is very friendly. We ended up spending practically the entire day there because in addition to the trains and historical pieces, we had lunch in the space (we brought food) and spent some time in the simulator (the staff is amazing - I loved António's knowledge and enthusiasm). At the end we still hear a rock choir from Lumiar. A day very well spent!

A great surprise... To emphasize the sympathy and availability of all employees. The diversity of vehicles exposed, although the real train is the cherry on top of the cake. I couldn't help but notice the existence of guide dog drinks. Congratulations.
