I found Burano in general to be a waste of time. The journey is long, the painted houses look nice - but it's not enough of a reason. I was mainly after the story of local lace industry, and this museum was less than modest. They have several nice paintings, but about lace - very little and very trivial. It's... More

The film at the beginning gives you a good appreciation for the effort of making lace; after a visit here you will wonder how you can afford any lace at all, it’s so labor intensive. There were several cases of lace on display upstairs, and then we were done – maybe 30 minutes.

I went in this lace museum on my own it's quite small and costs €5. There is quite a lot of lace to see and how the women used to make it, allow half an hour to go around

Greeted by rude receptionist I asked for student price. She asked how old I was after seeing my student card. How rude! Ageist!

This a place for the ladies ... If you have ever worn lace this place is outstanding ... There is so much history and detail behind every piece. It was interesting watching the initial video on how handmade. Very intricate. Definitely gives more appreciation to lace making!

This is the place to learn the history of the lace-making tradition on Burano and the lace making school. We visited it a few years ago and it was underwhelming - it's been updated and it's much more interesting now. There is a really good film as you go in which is well worth watching before going upstairs to the... More
