The History Museum is located within the fortress walls and entry is cheap, so may as well visit. I found the collection a bit of a hodgepodge, random items ranging from a painting gallery, photographs, armory, icons and archaeological items. It helps if you have a guide who can try to make a little sense of it all.

The museum is within the fortress and has an interesting contrast with it since the museum is in a modern building. The collection is rich in the region's history.

This museum is worth a walk through. It's not a castle or a palace in the Disney sense but the King's home. It is the only royal palace in Georgia. It is a prime example of Georgian cultural heritage.

Very modern building with wonderfully arranged exhibits ranging from Stone Age to the present time. There is an art gallery of paintings collected by a local enterprising lady. The museum has some beautifully kept exhibits and helps to provide a picture of Georgia over time. Definitely worth visiting.
