We went to Pheasant's Tears to have a wine tasting and it was marvellous. On a cold February, we were received with open arms. We have a very good tasting od the Kisi, Mtsvane and Saperavi. The explanation and the proudness of their production is second to none. We enjoyed it thorougly and ended up buying 7 bottles of wine and chacha. The wine is amazing, and the winery is perfect. But the people are sooo nice and they enjoy when people come through the door. Can't recommend it enough!

Perfect place! The interior and service are all top notch. The wine is the most delicious we have tasted in Georgia. We took kisi and chanuri. We really regretted that we chose another place for tasting. I should have come here right away. Food!!! It's very very tasty. The portions are huge. This may sound like an exaggeration, but for me this is the best restaurant in 2 years in Georgia.

The wine is amazing, the dishes we had the chance to taste here are the most unusual and authentic version of Georgian cuisine for us. We dreamed of this tasting, structured the trip to Georgia to visit the place, and guessed 100%!Tamar, thank you!!!💝🤚

The name justifies that the Pheasant had Tears.
I had tears and we all had tears in our eyes.
We came here five years ago when it wasn’t commercialized.
As my gf is from Georgia and I’ve been coming regularly to the country, we kind of set the benchmark with Georgian hospitality as it’s been delivered across the country on a consistent basis.
What happened is that they served us young wines that aren’t fully on point yet, but this wasn’t an issue as it’s an experience. They gave us an additional glass of wine to compare two different years from the same grape and how it evolved. What needs to be mentioned as well is that they gave us a Chacha to finish with.

The thing that happened is that they gave us the bill in Georgian writing which isn’t readable for a foreigner without knowing the language. On the final check they charged us for the milk separately and for a pot of French press coffee they charged us per person rather for the full pot.
Which is kind of a silly excuse to charge more for the same thing. Either ways this was our subjective experience that overcame us. Would recommend you to go when the owner is there, else go to any other place next-door for a degustation.

We ordered one glass of wine and payed 54gel in total for three persons. For the same price we had food, drinks and wine tasting for three people in Lali's restaurant near center. We wouldn't recommend!!!

We were so excited to visit winery, as it had been highly recommended by our Tour Guide. When we arrived, we really loved the quaintness of the place, as well as how gorgeous the tasting room was inside. There are multiple rooms you can visit, all with their own theme. This was definitely the highlight of our experience there!

The staff was so friendly, spoke great English, and really hosted us as if we were family! Tamar and Gia gave us a great outlook on the winery itself, as well as giving us an awesome presentation with their wines. Now, the only negative note my wife and I had, was that the wine wasn't our favorite. Most of them were extremely dry, and difficult to drink. But again, wine is very subjective!

That being said, I actually LOVED their homemade Cha Cha, ad it had such a unique taste, and reminded a bit of a Whiskey! We were also told that the food there was delicious, so we're definitely looking forward to comeback there, and sample some of that. Thank you Gia and Tamar for being such great hosts!

This was an incredible, transformative meal. We were greeted by the chef and he gave us his suggestions for our meal which we accompanied with the seven wine tasting. OMG, it was SO delicious. The salad was clearly made with fresh local ingredients and a dressing made from the local sunflower oil. Then we had wild mushrooms that were fabulous. Then the piece de résistance was the pork served up with a mixture of rice and lentils and cooked up with a bit of heat - amazing, truly amazing. The bread and wine and fruit compote were all lovely as well. Some places that Anthony Bourdain has visited rest on their laurels but not here; it was well worth the trip out from Tbilisi just for this meal.

Quaint and cozy with an ambiance to match. The service is impeccable with incredibly deep knowledge of Georgian wines, along with others. The food is incredibly fresh you can taste the passion that goes into the food and the wine. Overall highly recommended if you want to try wine from the original country who created it 8000 years ago!

We stopped by for a glass of wine. The wine was rather average and the price they charged per glass wasoverpriced by Georgian standarts. 18GEL per glass while the bottle of excellent wine would cost ~40-50GEL and we hardly ever paid more than 7GEL for excellent wine anywhere else in Georgia. Tourist trap in our view.

We loved our dinner at Pheasant's Tears. The fried mushrooms with tarragon and lemon were unreal! Everything we ordered was delicious and the rest of the menu also looked great. It would be a good place for vegetarians too. The staff was really friendly and knowledgable about the wines we tasted, and the atmosphere was great on the patio. We would definitely return.

We loved the hospitality, the food, the personal experience and all the awesome recommendations. I would go all the way to Georgia just to have wine and a meal here!! The chef even whipped up an Indian dish for us :). You can’t leave Sighnaghi without having a meal here:)

It was our pre wedding dinner and a big round of people. It was tasty, friendly and well organised. I think it is a must eat place when in Kakhetia. Great to host an event. Wine is just really tasty

My friends and I stopped in to check out the shop and do a wine tasting. We probably should have made an appointment but they agreed to do a free tasting and found us an English speaker. The young man who came to do the tasting was far less welcoming. Our tasting became free only if we bought wine which was something we couldn't determine until we tried it. Unlike other reviewers, we got no real information on the wine but we did find something that we liked. The wine was far better than the service. This could have been a great experience but we almost walked out because this man was so unhelpful.
