    Stunning and historical
Bodbe Monastery is worth visiting for the beautiful religious structures on the grounds - inside and out - as well as the hillside panoramic view of the Caucasus Mountains in the distance. Several nuns live here and grow their own spices and produce, some of which you can purchase in the shop outside the monastery. There are also some small coffee shops and cafes. Plenty of parking available. Before entering the churches, women need to cover their hair, men need to remove hats, and pictures are not allowed inside.

    Beautiful place
Beautiful place. In the old church are original frescos that date back several centuries. The grounds are spectacular. Nice to walk among the roses. A new church was still under construction.

Beautiful but no tranquility with the crowds
Bodbe Monastery, Sighnaghi, Georgia: Sweet Bodbe Monaatery draws more tourists than bees to honey. The view of the Alazani valley and greater Caucasus mountains, dotted by Cyprus trees is akin to an impressionist painting. This is a simple but beautiful Georgian Orthodox Church that pilgrims that flock to. #eatstylishtravelstylish

Bodbe Monastery of Dt. Nino is simply awesome
The Bodbe Monastery of Dt. Nino has the wow factor. This Monastery is located in Kakheti region in the Signagi wine valley. The grounds of this Monastery are pristine, well manicured, clean and surrounded by many flowers and plants. This Monastery attracts lots of tours and tourists. Additionally, there is the coffin of St.Nino inside and no one is allowed to take photos. OVerall it is really a wonderful place to visit in Kakheti. I highly recommend it.

    Monastery with greenery
Bodbe Monastery, is one of the most important religious sites and tourist attractions in Georgia. According to legend, Saint Nino, a 4th century female evangelist who brought Christianity to Georgia settled in the Bodbe area after her mission, and died there. Originally, built as a small monastery in the 9th century, it has been rebuilt several times over centuries. Currently it runs as a nunnery. It's a beautiful monastery with a colorful dome. There are some trees in the complex that are more than 500 years old. Very nice place, should not be missed.

    A Patch of Heaven
Ironic that convents and monasteries command the best scenery. At St. Nino's you have the old chapel and a new chapel under construction. Visit the church and walk around the grounds in quiet contemplation. The grave of St. Nino is inside the old chapel. Because of St. Nino, this is a major pilgrimage site. Nino brought christianity to Georgia as a young girl and it became the official religion of the land. Even though this place is known as a monastery, it is currently a nunnery.

Choose a good weather for the visit. Both the main cathedral and the smaller church were closed in Sunday morning for visitors. The views were partly hidden due to clouds.
The external appearance is unique both in main architectural aspects but also small ornament on walls.
Do not forget to descent for a holly water source.

After leaving Mtskheta, Saint Nino retired to the mountains near Signagi. At the "Bodbe Monastery", her relics are enshrined and her holy tomb is worshipped. The Monastery dates from the 9th century and is located only at 2 kms from Signagi. The "Georgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church" is responsible for the complex, which is now a nunnery. It consists a small hall church, with an annex built over Saint Nino's gravesite, which is integrated to the basílica. At its side, a separate bell tower erected between 1862 and 1885. The "Bodbe Monastery of Saint Nino" is a major center of pilgrimages in Georgia and should not be missed by all those visiting Signagi. Enjoy!

On a rainy day almost renounced but happy we didn't . Under a strong rain I forced myself and decided to visit this church although the way was covered by rain water and difficult access .... once inside a big surprise for what you expect to see in an orthodoxic church : white shining walls around and modern looking icons and iconostasis with clean and modern mosaics .

The Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex and is located 2 km from the town of Sighnaghi, Kakheti, Georgia. Originally built in the 9th century, it has been significantly remodeled, especially in the 17th century. The monastery now functions as a nunnery and is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia, due to its association with St. Nino, the 4th-century female evangelist of Georgians, whose relics are shrined there. Beside its religious significance it’s also a lovely spot which very picturesque and has great views of the surrounding country side.

It's like a hidden pearl. This is the Kakheti region of Georgia. A region famous for its wines. This church is also located in this region. The church is very beautiful, its garden is more beautiful than itself, its view is more beautiful than all of them. You can come here with a one and a half hour car ride from Tbilisi center. These are already wine regions of Georgia. You can stop by wine tasting centers on the way. There are two restaurants at the entrance of the church, we children had to eat at these restaurants because we were hungry, but we did not like anything except the wine.
