About
According to the genealogy researched by Valentin Guillon we know that our family have been living on the same farm since 1610. Over the past 3 generations the farm has been gradually planted with vines and the secrets of blending the family’s Cognac and Pineau des Charentes has been passed from grandfather to father and now daughter.Line Sauvant is the Maître de Chais of this Mansion, and she manages all the process of production, from the vineyard to the bottle! The vineyards of Guillon-Painturaud brand cover 18 hectares (about 45 acres) of land and are set in the heart of the Grande Champagne region – Grande Champagne is the way we call the Premier Cognac grape growing area. The vines benefit from the chalky soil and local climate, allowing the growth of grapes to produce a spirit that is renowned for its delicacy, powerful aromas and longevity. We produce both Cognac and Pineau des Charentes, which is a blended mix of Cognac with white or rose fresh grape juice; and it is also aged

Pineau
Jul 2018 • Couples
Not a Cognac fan but Guillon Painturaud also produce Pineau. Have had it in various restaurants throughout the area but wouldn’t buy my Pineau for home anywhere else. From the new to the very old, all delicious, and if you are feeling flush you could try their extra special!

Today we were very glad to open a world of cognac at Guillon Painturaud! The excursion was really great, interesting and detailed! We tried a cognac that is older then we are, directly from the barrel! Great experience in amazing atmosphere! Thank you! Mreci bien! =)

Really nice tour, very good tasting
Aug 2016 • Friends
This small, family-owned vineyard and distillery really offers a nice insight into how good Cognac is made. We got a very informative tour of the their production facilites and their "treasure chamber" by the young viniculturalist. She was very responsive to all our questions and let us even taste some of their rarities. Afterwards, we got to taste some of their Cognacs in their shop and also some of their Pineaus, which is a regional speciality. The shop has different age classes and sizes on offer, so there's some for every budget. Overall we spent about 2 hours. Very much recommended! Bring your camera.

Wonderful tour and tasting
Jul 2016 • Solo
I visited as part of a Cognac tour I found on Viator, and was blown away. They were very welcoming and informative, plus they shared samples of some very, very fine Cognac. I'm really hoping I can find a distributor for thier products when I return home. Very much recommended.

Lovely chance to sample the finest cognacs and pineau
Aug 2015 • Family
The people here are lovely, patient and helpful. The products are sublime. They have a wonderful old map on the wall so that they can track where their customers have come from, we added a pin into the UK! Check out their antiques barn as well.

Great little distillery - what a find!
Jul 2015 • Friends
We came here as a group of about 30 people and were warmly welcomed. The member of staff who conducted the tour and tasting was extremely knowledgeable as she is one of the mebers of staff who actually do the distilling. Everything was explained clearly and there were tastings at each stage so one could guage the progress of the cognac through the years from a newly distilled one to the the 50 year old one.

She answered an array of questions as we were led through the distillery, stopping at each point of interest, and on to the 'Cave' where all the barrels lay marked up and ready either to bottle or store for another 10 years. The distillery is run by a female meber of the third generation of distillers and growers. From their 45 acres of vines in the absolute best part of the Cognac region, due to the chalky soil and climate combination, they produce a variety of really nice Cognacs and Pineaux.

Their delightful little shop was made use of by many of us to buy some of the products we had tasted. They make a really delightful Vieux Pineau which we brought back to enjoy. We will be back for more when we pass next.
