About
Nemo’s Surf School is the best place to learn to surf. Our friendly and experienced instructors will ensure you enjoy yourself while they teach you the basics of surfing safely. We will begin by explaining the safety rules and techniques of surfing in theory, practise the stand-up technique on the beach, and then show you how to catch small waves in the water. If you already have an understanding of surfing basics or are an experienced surfer, we can help improve your wave command as well as take you to advanced breaks. With thanks to our local government support, Nemo’s Surf School is able to purchase surfboards and create surfing instructor jobs for the local community. We can provide: surfing lessons (max 3 hours) - IDR 350,000/person; surfing courses (3 lessons) - IDR 900,000 (person); surfboard rental (max 3 hours) - IDR 100,000; and more. Simply contact us 1 day in advance to book your surfing lesson or guided surf expedition.

Two adults and two young children (aged 11 and 9) had a FABULOUS time with our instructor Ari and the rest of the Nemo gang, who were incredibly friendly and supportive throughout our lesson.
We were all total beginners, but through their patient tutelage it wasn't long before we were all getting to grips with the basics. The instructors gave tips and advice throughout, but the best bit was how genuinely enthusiastic they were and how they cheered our every success. The children rate it as one of the very best aspects of our two-week stay, and I recommend the experience highly.

I strongly recommend this surfing school. The owner and his son are really friendly and teaches very well. My 8 yo daughter really enjoyed surfing with them. She surfed in Kuta, Bali for the first time, and senggigi here with Nemo was second time. She got confidence of surfing after learning from them, They choose best surfing spot for my daughter and teach her how to paddle and how to wait and catch green waves for surfing. Compare to Bali, it has better waves and water also clean. The view with gunung Agung was just amazing, My daughter is very happy learning from them. We will go there again for surfing! Two thumbs up! Terima kasih Pak!

Best surf school in Lombok ! Abdull and his crew are really nice, they teach perfectly, are patient and helpful. Thanks to them I took my first waves 🙏🏽 If you want to do your first steps at surfing, go with them now !
I texted Abdull pretty late in the morning, he told me that it was a bit late to surf because of low tide, but I really wanted to try. He didn’t force me to come, and I really appreciate that he was not looking after a new client, but looking after giving me the best conditions to learn how to surf. So first lesson with him, he took care of me like a father take care of a son, giving me many advices and then giving me opportunities to try alone but staying with me to help and give more advices. And after less than an hour after, first wave ! :)
And I came back the day after for a second lesson, in early morning, better conditions, and again, all the crew took care of me. I’m really grateful to Abdull and his crew, no I have to try alone in Biarritz ! Thanks again I will never forget !

Nemo's Surf School is the best place to learn surfing if you're in Senggigi. It was our first time surfing, so Abdull and his boys brought us to a beginner's spot and taught us the basics. The lesson was memorable and fun; we managed to catch waves and stood up on our first few tries because of Abdull and his crew. They are very patient with us, and helped to identify waves that are big enough for us to surf on. They were beside us in the water the whole time, and we never once felt that we were in danger.
They also provide life jackets for weak swimmers who are worried about falling in the sea, and rash guard for sun protection. Abdull also shared his life story on how he became a surf instructor from selling souvenirs by the beach. It was very inspiring. This is truly the best place for both beginners and advanced surfers alike.

By chance, we came across their store which is along the main road. We took down their number and booked them for the following morning (7/11/2022). Abdul and his son, Ari, accommodated to our needs, provided the equipments, and humbly taught us the do’s and don’ts of/while surfing. We had an amazing time, and if we ever come to Senggigi again, we will definitely come to them.

Ari and Ahmed were great teachers. There step-by-step approach helped us to stand on the surfboard very fast. Meanwhile we had a lot of fun. They speak very good English and are super friendly. We would recommed the surf school 100%.

The owner and his son are both great surfers and teachers. Being my first ever surfing experience these two really made it a great one. Genuinely friendly and really wanted to help you improve and ensure a good time.
They both speak English well enough to be easily understood and I'd say above average for the region.

Coming back to Lombok after 6 years felt like coming home again thanks to Abdul.
He is such a nice, caring person and the best surf instructor!
He takes a lot of time for beginners and also for me as an intermediate, his explanations are great and you also learn a lot about the waves, the right timing and also the culture here.
No waves? Go fishing with Abdul! His wife still makes the best curry on the island!

My sister and I took a surf lesson at Nemo’s surf school. It was my first time surfing and the waves at the first beach were a bit strong so the owner took us to another beach to make it easier for us to learn it. The service at Nemo’s Surf school is great and they really take the time and patience to teach you how to surf, even when you’re a beginner. The owner is a very nice man with lots of experience and knowledge about the island and surfing. Thank you so much for the awesome first experience. Would recommend :)

We both have never been surfing before and contacted Abdulla 24h before we planned to get to know surfing. We received a reply immediately and met them (Abdulla and his son, Ari, who is also an excellent surf instructor) the next morning. They were well organized and briefly instructed (but not overinstructed, which is nice) us before we started to catch waves. We improved very quickly with their support and had a ton of fun together! Highly recommended and all the best to Abdulla & Ari =)
