Santa Eulalia church situated in the small village of Erill la Vall (Vall de Boi) in the Catalan Pyrenees. Is one of the prettiest Romance church in the world. Its tower slender and queenly. It allows to have beautiful views to enjoy of Vall de Boi's beauty. Inside there is a wooden and very unique sculpture set, the Davallament d'Erill. The porch at the entrance to the church just beside the cemetery conveys a pleasant sensation of calm and peaceful.

One of the best churches in the valley and perhaps the best bell-tower in the Vall de Boí. It is slender, square in plan and six storeys high and is decorated in the Lombard Romanesque style with rounded arcading and saw-tooth friezes. You can go up, which is also great. Inside the church there is a copy of the sculpture of the Descent from the Cross , the only whole sculpture remaining from the Erill Workshop.

We visited this place during a week long hiking trip. Another lovely romanesque church. No frescoes but a stunning group of wooden statues from 11th century (copy) - a must if you like art and history!

There are nine churches around Vall de Boi inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. These romanesque churches had tall towers used to communicate between one another and thus protect the valley and its inhabitants. Most of them are open, there's also a visitor's centre in Erill la Vall. Santa Eulalia has a nice display of exhibits and artifacts and you can climb the bell tower for lovely views. The only problem when visiting is that the local staff seems to speak only the Catalan dialect and not anything else, you won't get by with English. But there's an English guidebook you can buy!
