About
Vallter 2000 is located in the glacial circus of Morens-Ull de Ter. It extends within the village of Setcases, in the eastern Pyrenees of Girona. It is a friendly family resort, which opened in the 1974-75 season as a center for skiing and mountain activities. The base of the resort is located at 2200 m. in the valley of the River Ter, with its minimum height of 1.959 m. and maximum altitude of 2535 m. At the terrace of the cafe-bar Les Marmotes situated at 2.535 m is installed the "Viewpoint-Balcony of the Costa Brava" from where you can see the bay of Roses (Costa Brava). Thanks to its extraordinary situation, visitors can enjoy a panoramic, unique and exceptional view. Peaks that surround Vallter 2000 are among others, Bastiments (2881 m), Gra de Fajol (2708 m) and Pic de la Dona (2704 m).

Out of season visit. Wonderful scenery. The drive up is worth the visit alone.

Visited in October 2017. Everything was closed, but had beautiful scenery. The drive up through Setcases was worth the trip on its own.

We wente there for snowshoeing and the place was so nice, full of snow and the slopes are very good snowed and easy. The skipass ticket is cheap and the place offers different things to do... skiing snowshoeing eating walking hiking...

Good price

Wide slopes makes it easier to distribute the amount of skiers....gets very busy but probably because the price is reasonable .... 25€ day forfeit + 3€ insurance.

Very disappointing

Vallter 2000 is very basic. Just a couple of slopes but it probably suits the school parties that were there. There is very little there - it is certainly not a resort by any stretch of the imagination. There is an equipment shop/rental facility and an over-priced cafe with absolutely no atmosphere which charged €1.80 for a cortado in a paper cup. The toilets are outside and had no toilet seats and you had to collect toilet paper from a central dispenser. There is hardly any snow at the moment, what was there looked to be artificially produced and very hard. Probably the slopes would look more attractive with more snow, but that still wouldn't improve the facilities. The best part of visiting Vallter 2000 are the views on the way down.

Ideal for beginners/kids. Less expensive and less crowded.

Vallter2000 is not the best ski spot in the area but it has a series of advantages that make it a good choice for a particular kind of skier.
On the downside there are very few slopes. There are far more than Vall de Nuria on the other side of the mountain, but still nothing like the variety and amount at La Molina, Andorra or Font Romeu. There are only two chair lifts and the rest are old fashioned T-lifts and there is a moving carpet for the bunny slope. While there is one black slope this is definitely a place for beginners or children with the vast majority of pistes being green or blue.
On the upside the slopes that are there are not as crowded as other stations nearby. There are long lift lines on the weekend and holidays but nothing akin to the masses at La Molina. At less than 2 hours drive from Barcelona with sufficient parking that is a huge advantage. Also the lift ticket prices are substantially lower.
The only line that is significant is the rental line (to return as well) and I would recommend renting in Setcases instead of the site itself.
This station will not provide any challenge to experienced skiers but for families with smaller children or beginners this station is optimal.
